I love running around LT with my charmed pet, but it seams when I have a charmed pet, my summoned pet takes a lot more damage. Is it just my perception or anyone else find this to be true? Also when you have charmed and summoned pet, do they both get your pet buffs?

-Kaif

60/60 Necro/Sage

Faydark

Yea I know what your talking about. I've noticed that if you have a charmed pet he is considered your main pet by the game so your pet buffs and heals get directed to it, which should be fixed because it really effects the gameplay while soloing.

While were talking about charmed pet have ya'll noticed that when you charm a pet it does less damage than it did before you charmed it?

Charmed should only become your primary if you charm before you summon. First pet is always the one the heals go to. Buffs affect ALL pets. (even the shroom from splitpaw)

nope dont work that way ((

if we have a pet up and charm are heals and buffs go to the charmed mob but our summoned pet is normally the one taking hits

soon as u charm a pet the charm pet will become target in your pet window ... no way to switch them back

Message Edited by soulraiser on 12-31-2005 08:45 PM

its our lvl 55 Ancient Spell -- Charm Undead ... and it does not work on NPC's only undead mobs

I know this because if you summon the little splitpaw shroom, you'll see the buff icons on both it and your normal pet. Same should hold true for a charmed pet.

i used to go around looking for ^^^ caster mobs to charm. big mistake. once they'd break they'd do some serious damage to me and i died in the middle of fights if i didnt notice the break in a couple hits. now i charm solo mobs. they are just as affective due to the charmed mob being readjusted to the lvl of the charm spell. I'm just curious on if we charm a solo con mob does it get stronger in the same why if we charm a ^^^ that it gets weaker???

No, supposedly down arrow mobs maintain their weaker state, while ^, ^^, and ^^^ mobs get dropped to no arrows. But this is 100% not as straight forward as it seems. I know for fact that ^, ^^, and ^^^ mobs perform differently. ^^^ mobs are better pets than a normal no arrow mob, period. Now, I do know that a ^^^ charmed mob vs a ^^^ mob will get owned, so I don't think that the ^^^ charmed mob keeps all its power... BUT what I think is that like our regular pets... different mob classes get access to different spells. So if a ^^^ specter gets ice comet, but a no arrow mob doesn't you're still going to see a significant boost in DPS if you charm the ^^^ mob. Yeah, its HPs drop to a regular pets level, but it still casts superior spells. I think all ^^^ mobs in general have a more access to a more diverse and powerful line of spells. So regardless of the fact that the charmed mobs loose their HPs, Power pool, and ubberness, having access to better spells is still a plus.Also:- If I use charmed pets, I always keep my warrior pet loaded in def stance. Seldom have I ever died.- When soloing with Charmed pets, keep your group skelli illusion up. As soon as it breaks charm it will be obvious and you can fear, root, stun, or recharm it, depending on the circumstances.

I wish they would fix it so the pet window doesn't switch to what we have charmed, and fix the graphics the spell effects to either show up on both pet's or the main one. Would also be nice if a message showed up like when you get caught by the "Sha'ir" that the pet charm has broke, coercer's could use this too. Can be hard with so much going on sometimes to tell.

Message Edited by Sonic X on 01-10-200604:03 PM

We need to know... sure, I can watch the maintained effects on the left and I can see Control Undeath drop when it breaks, but I can't be looking over there all the time.

The heal over time pet heal affects the pet you have showing as your pet... ie, the one your pet command box has focus on. But I think it may actually affect your main pet as well. The real stinker is that the pet heal staff ONLY affects your current main pet. Which is 90% of the time the charmed one.For named mobs, I've actually started charming ^^^ class mobs 1st before I create a pet. Buff the charmed mob and send it in. THEN make a pet and send it in. Usually this gives the charmed mob time to get good agro, and when I use my 40% heal it hits the pet taking damage.
