I did AQ1 and now I have to go to FG and kill things there. I just dinged lvl 22 but it looks like FG is to much at the moment. Is it possible to solo the frst two or three of the Arnor Quests? At what level?

FG is a tough place. I just finished AQ2 and will be doing AQ3 tonight. Im level 30 and FG is still tricky because the mobs are all ^^ Heroic or ^^^ Heroic. I am sure I could of completed it sooner if I was super careful... If you get in a group obviously you could breeze through the quest. Cheers,

The AQs are for the most part intended to be done in a group.

Yes you can but why bother. If you wait until the point when you can solo the quests the quest reward items are useless to wear. Once you get passed AQ1-3 the quests take you to Edgewater drains (nasty undercon zone), then to Nektulos Forest for AQ 5 and 6. Both AQ 5 and 6 have been revamped and are no longer soloable at anywhere near the level you wants the items. As an example I helped a guildmate do AQ 6 for his brigand the other night, and he needed 12 Nightfall Giants. These were Level 26-27 ^^^ mobs.

As others have suggested, get a group together that are up to the same AQ quest you are and you not only complete them quicker, but you get some very nice experience along the way. You might even make some friends to group with beyond the AQ series.

Sark.

Just FYI, you can solo AQ2 did it last night. It will be a LONG SLOW process (took me about 2 hours) but there's about 6 mobs so you get decent XP (I got about 50% into 22 doing it). When you get past the gloom snakes, at the end of the tunnel before you get to First Gate, there are 6 mobs in that little area outside the gate. 2 blue 1up (to a 21) Excavators on the left and 2 on the right. There's a roaming Overseer who will come right past the end of the tunnel and a Dragoon standing stationary right at the gate.

I pulled the Overseer back into the tunnel a little and took it out. Next I single pulled an Excavator, again back into the tunnel some just in case, and after it was done the 2nd Excavator on the same side. Rinse and repeat on the other side and, lastly, pull the Dragoon. Sorry I didn't time the respawns but I'm guessing in the 7-8 min range based on the fights taking about 30-45 seconds, some downtime between for pet heal and mana regen. Since you need 8 Overseers and 10 Dragoons (BTW if you have any of the FSRs or quests that need shriller drops there's 2 of them grouped flying around here as well, the were either blue or white 2downs), like I said, it takes awhile. There was a couple times folks would show up and wander around the empty area where a mob would spawn on them so, like twice in the 1.5-2 hours, I had to redo the cycle to get them split but, since none of them were aggro, it wasn't a big deal.

I have a habit of hitting mob with Bludegeoning Earth (think that's it, the upgraded rock drop DoT), backing up (in this case back into the tunnel), and sending pet in for the attack. Usually the pet gets some free hits in while the mob is chasing me then gets aggro and we're on. Couple times pet got aggro very early but, since mobs were spaced out pretty well, I never got multiples. If you do it's no big deal, turn around and run up tunnel to exit.

Anyway good luck on AQ2. Like everyone else said, you're going to have to give up the solo life (lol I'm with you I very much enjoy that with my pet ) for the rest. AQ3 is a bunch of nasties obviously deeper in. Sooo, if you want to enjoy a little AQ soloing, you can at least do AQ2.

GL

Message Edited by Hecklerkoch on 01-03-2006 07:48 AM

An update to my earlier post. Not sure what the deal is but was in FG last night and mobs around First Gate (see my earlier post for details) were totally arranged differantly. Here's what I saw last night: 2 Dragoons at the end of the tunnel before you get into the open area, a wandering Dragoon that came from the other side of First Gate up to near the end of the tunnel, plus the others previously noted. I ran right into 2 standing at the end of the tunnel so no idea if they're linked or not. If not all 3 of these would be easy pulls, just have to back up further in the tunnel (no prob with that nothing there but gloom snakes).

Not quite sure why the set up was different. I spent close to 2 hours there and never saw the 3 "new" ones I saw last night, would have sped it up some since I was waiting for the single Dragoon to spawn. So, bottom line, AQ2 is soloable (assuming the 2 at end of tunnel aren't linked) you just have to do it differently.

Sorry for the bad info but, like I said, I have no earthly idea why these mobs weren't spawning in the 2 hours I was there. /shrug
