Forgive my ignorance, but what is a fighter pet, mage pet, scout pet, etc????I am a necromancer that mainly solos and I have always used my pet as my tank. I use the Tellurian line mainly because they seem to be able to take the most damage. Unfortunetly, with the last few updates on test, my adept 1 tellurian recruit seems to be casting an AOE spell which is causing me a lot of headaches. Is a tellurian recruit a fighter pet? Sorry if my question is a bit dumb. In the year and a half I have been playing EQ2, I have never known my pet had a class.

There are 3 lines of pet spells.

The Tank line starts at level 10 (upgrades are every 14 levels so you get a new one at 24,38,52) the mage line starts at 20 (34, 4 and the scout line starts at 32 (46,60).

And unless they changed it you also get an option for a lvl 20 tank and a lvl 30 mage via specialized training.

Those training pets were taken out in LU13 with all the other training options and replaced with the master 2 choices at the x4 levels.
