use a parser then. On yellow cons our pets do almost 50% of our DPS On Orange cons they are our DPS and when ppl mez adds we are doomed to just resing and geting resists. Ball script in SC will be pain when you get mobs from above agroed bc of PB AEs. But worst of all if i root something and my Pet AEs and brakes my root then there is something wrong, so all in all this is rather a nerf to Necro solo ability then a gain. <div></div>

50% of your dps hardly translates to 0 DPS, ya know.

Get 60 and start raiding those high places, its one thing to talk and another to know. <div></div>

Uh, where does it say the pets will be using PBAE's now?<div></div>

Currently Fighter pets on Test servers have a PBAE melee attack. And Mage pets on Test are also going to cast their AE spells a lot more often than they are now.

Ah thanks. Well I would imagine that the fighter one almost certainly a bug... As for the mage, those aren't PBAE, so it likely is a good change to give it a role vs the assassin pet.<div></div>

Most raids the pets die from massive AOE too quick anyway and are a waste of time/DPS to re-summon. I usually just keep my pet at my side for power tapping so I can chain nuke/dot and send DF pets.

DF pets are mostly uselless, once you check parser they only there for lagging raid, very very often they do zero DPS yes nothing. Powertaping hasnt been a needed option for ages now, since as necro lich m1 ft10 i never get even under 50% 420ish INT selfbuffed could use food and potions but no reason either. On AEs i time and back off pet so it doesnt get hit or use 40% heal on worse moments and nr m1 too if needed so it heals up whilst backed off. The Major problem tho i see with this nerf, my Pet will brake roots/fears on group mobs and will make group mezers life a nightmare and soloing tougher. So none will want a necro with a Pet that randomly brakes mezes, happy soloing since exping in groups we usually take long to get the dps others make fast but mobs nowaday drop very fast in exp groups. If this nerf goes life necro's will have a hard time. <div></div>

And if fighting many with tank pet, that means you're soloing, and thus again want to be AEing everything for agro (probably).Maybe I'm missing something...

Example: Lockjaw. Not only does is that mob capable of AOE wiping any casters within range in seconds, it'll quickly kill any pets beating on him because the healers are too busy healing the MT, secondary tanks, and scouts, to do anything substantial for the pets. DF pets you can position on lockjaw's flanks and they can get close to running duration. If the main pet dies, re-summoning is a waste of time as it takes too long when you could be nuke/doting. And as for mana, I have a hair under 400 on my own buffs/gear and other regens and easily can oop on a raid like this which can last 5+ minutes of straight casting. I always use power taps and hearts in raids. Its in groups and soloing where I never need it -- heck I don't even need drink or lich in most cases.</P> <P>Mezzing is what's dead. Check the chanter forums. Other than Keeper (where its a luxury not a necessity), how often do i <EM>need</EM> a mezzer? <EM>Need</EM> being the key word here. So I welcome stuns, stifles, PBaoe, and roots by the pets. And anything that could make soloing harder would be a good thing since its so ridiculously easy as it is. Which it won't, considering all these abilities only strengthen the pets for soloing. Unless you are kiting, in which case you don't need the pet at all to kite named. Bah, I've heard all these doomsday predictions before.</P> <P>Hooray for the changes.</P>

You know, I read and reread the post notes and it never states what kind of AoE is involved. It never says its a PBAE, it merely states they will use AoE spells more often. So I wonder if its talking about the encounter locked ones or not. I guess only testing will tell. <div></div>

It's supposed to be simply Encounter based, like they are now on Live servers. At least according to Lockeye.

<DIV>As long as they are IN encounter AOE's all should be fine.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I honestly doubt they would give us un-controllable out of encounter AOE's on our main pets.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>That would be ignorant at best.</DIV>

<DIV>I'm not concerned at all about pets breaking mez, because our chanters never mez when raiding. Heck, I've xp'd two characters to 60 and have only had one chanter use mez in group (which the Pali kept breaking over and over and over....).</DIV>
Simple solution... If you want to preserve mez, use the scout instead of the mage/fighter. <div></div>

<P>Why can't we have a better Pet control tool box and check uncheck the type of attack you want your pet to do ??</P> <P>[expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] we control the pet so why not control the spell they use ?? <BR>It would be so easy for us to select AE or single target attacks spells ... I cannot imagine that a designer didn't think at that before instead of letting our pet loos and cast whatever he feels like ..</P> <P>My 2 cts, going back to the graveyard</P>
