View Full Version : Gladiator's Arena in very difficult mode
<DIV> <DIV>I posted this in the Splitpaw forums, I thought I'd postit here too. I wanted to know if there is a Necromancer who has beat the arena in very difficult mode. I can easily beat all of the fights in difficult mode (32 wins in Difficult mode so far and 9 in normal mode). But when I try to beat it in Very Difficult mode; I can only get to Phosm before he wipes the floor with me. He is 6 levels higher and I's say that 85% of my spells resist against him. If less spells resisted I'd have a better chance. I do have Gnoll Master strike, but I'm waiting until he is under 50% life to use it; so my pet will not lose agro.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Any techniques that a level 43 Necro can use to at least beat Phosm?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks</DIV></DIV>

Sounds about right. Oranges are going to kick your butt no matter how hard you try, even if you upgrade to all Fabled gear and all Master I spells. Phosm Stonebend is just the start of the punishment; the twin gnolls, the trio, and The Champion immediately afterwards are only harder still (very good chance The Champion would con Red as well, making him virtually impossible to beat).

<DIV>Yeah I beat it on Very Difficult once before DoF (and thus combat changes) was out. I dinged in the middle of the arena which made him orange to me and then I still had to kite him :smileyhappy:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>He still dropped the same lore item and the pet and the boar head - so the kill is really only to be able to say you did it - Which I did!!!!!! <although not very honorably></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As for doing it after the combat changes ..... I would say it would be very very difficult due to resists.</DIV>

I got wiped at Psosm too, my pet couldn't hurt him and he resisted 80% of what I threw at him <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>
<DIV>I only fought him once at 50 pre-combat changes. I got to the Champ but he owned me. I should have tried it after the changes because we were doing a lot more dam.</DIV>
