I was just in a group earlier on Harpy Island in PoF ( the one w/all the ashen monks walking around, so PBAoE's a BIG nono ), and the moment I would cast Servile Soul - bam, 5 monk beating on me...i thought servile soul was just another dumbfire pet? his attack isn't pbaoe is it?tho, there is something up there anyways....after our wipe when i cast servile soul, the defiler cast his group rez stones spell and bam - he was dead, all the monks in the vicinity aggro'd him...i think something in the area was pooched for sure, but my question still remains - do we have ANY pbaoe spells OTHER than Accursed Cloud ( i'm lvl 53 only ), or Pestilent Soul? ( which doesn't advert it as being pbaoe, but it seems to be cause i can't cast unless mobs are right beside me )

<P>I have noticed that something about Servile soul does cause AOE aggro.  I dunno what causes it exactly, i'll have to look and see.</P> <P>Xalo</P> <P>Tacticians of Vengeance</P>

Well, I'm not sure about the spell, but I do know that something screwy is on that island. I was there last night when all of a sudden we were attacked by a group of monks too. When we regrouped (and revived) and started to rebuff, our ranger was attacked and killed, then the monk walked off like nothing happened. It didn't attack the rest of us. Not sure what that was about :smileyhappy:

Yup, can verify it does something PBAOE....   first time I cast it just away from Tears dock (on a green) mob it aggroed the mob standing next to my servant, and they were not social mobs.

good to know i'm not crazy! It isn't a HUGE deal in the sense that the AE range doesn't seem to be very large, and in a standard spot / instance, mobs aren't spaced so tightly together that it is an issue...however, that harpy island it is a BIG deal....it is useless to use a spell that is guaranteed to wipe your group....anyone know if this is working as intended? or is this a glitch?

i thought it always used a poison PBAE consently.  thats where its damage came from.  and i know it has a kinda large range.  maybe 20m or slightly more.  i've been in outdoor zones and have attracted wandering adds that i know i was outside of thier aggro range.  and they zeroed right in on the snake. <div></div>

<DIV>Yes, it is apperaing as if any of our supposed dumbfire pet spells (Which I have read described as "a single target DOT with a creature graphic component") now appear to be casting PBAOE's on the mobs they are  attacking. Don't know if this is the result of some type of buff it places on itself (proc) or as a form of attack, but it seems kind of ridiculous to me. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Think about it this way...If we have a spell that is listed as a 30 sec DOT...and when you cast it on a mob it would also cast spells or reactive procs in addition to the DOT damage one would definately think it would be in the spells description. Whereas now it seems it is not. Personally I like these spells and the graphics that they have, but if its going to continually get me and my groups killed, i would rather petition to get it changed into a regular single target DOT that I can rely on to kill the mob not kill me.</DIV>

none of our pets, regular or dumbfire, list the spells or combat arts that are in their ability to cast. <div></div>
