<DIV>Hi folks!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I cancelled my account approximately 6 months ago, and was hoping to get some information from you folks regarding what has changed since then. Particularly with regards to solo hunting zones.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just before I cancelled, SOE added a few really poorly designed instanced dungeons that had a few basic mobs in them with no drops/loot. The entrances moved around, and really it wasn't even worth finding the entrance since the contents of the dungeon was so useless.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm thinking of re-opening my account; but first wanted to find out from my fellow Necros what was available with regards to solo content. Are there any dungeons accessible to a solo player with worthwhile content/mobs/loot? Have they removed some of the restrictions with regards to travel? (ie: EL access quest)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'd really like to login and jump into a dungeon, work my way through it, and have a worthwhile prize waiting for me at the end of it. (ala AO's mission structure) Is there anything interesting like that for a solo player in EQ2 yet?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks in advance for any assistance! <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Grays</DIV>

<P>Hey Gray, I was in the same situation as you were. I let my account go inactive for roughly 6 months. I was bored one day & took advantage of SOE's free 10 day trial. I must say I am happy w/ the improvments. Happy enough that I went ahead & re-subscribed.</P> <P>I started a new toon & created a necro. I solo'ed for roughly 90-95% of the time. He is now level 29 & I'm loving it. There is plenty of solo content to level off of. As far as nice rewards, I think that is a little subjective. Personally, I think a nice reward is something you get from a heroic quest. However, the two HQs I've done I have always needed assitance from members of my guild. Sorry, I don't have time to elaborate more, but didn't you get the offer for a free 10 day trial? I thought that was something Sony offered to ex-subscribers.</P>

<P>Thanks for the reply, Notorious!</P> <P> </P> <P>I don't recall having seen any offers from SOE. Perhaps it got pushed into Junk Mail by mistake. </P> <P> </P> <P>Thanks for the info! Good to hear a positive reply. Perhaps it's worth it for me to just re-open and give it a shot.</P> <P> </P> <P>Grays</P>

<P>Also, they took out the requirements for the access quests for the large overland maps and several dungeons. You can still do the quests, you just get an item reward instead.</P> <P>The Splitpaw Saga AP may be worth it to you if you want to do some solo zones. There are several to do with some pretty nice rewards and the dungeons scale with you from levels 20 to 50.</P>

I don't remember the exact timing, but since those silly movable cave zones were introduced the developers have improved solo instances and zones quite a bit. Depending on your level range, you can look into doing: The vault zone in everfrost, ~lvl42, easy to clear with 2 named mobs. Zone in Feerrot, ~lvl 37, larger zone with 1 named that you have to spawn; this requires a series of solo quests in Feerrott to access. 2 zones in Nektulos and TS, ~lvl25, both with easy access quests, each have 1 or 2 named mobs each time, the nektulos one can drop some fairly nice caster stuff. Valley of the Rogue Magi in Commonlands, ~lvl19, also has some decent caster stuff for teens players. (I'm too lazy to look up the names and access details right now, but you can probably figure them out). Solo quest lines were added to Nektulos/TS/Zek/EL that, while usually not too great lootwise, provide a fair bit of coin and ensure you explore those zones fully. 45+, much of the Desert of Flames expansion has solo content, both overland stuff to hunt and plenty of solo quest lines. The non-instanced dungeon zones in the expansion all have substantial sections of solo critters (with solo oriented named mobs! that drop loot!). The old-world dungeon zones, not including Permafrost and Solusek Eye, generally have some level of solo content near the entrance now if that's your thing (Runnyeye, Fallen Gate, etc.) Splitpaw has quite a bit of soloing, including several solo "dungeon crawl" quests that are reasonably rewarding. <div></div>

That's great info! Thanks Catodon!
