I have had this happen a few times now, so I assume it’s a bug.

Send pet in, realize pet is about to die and me next. So I back off pet and run until encounter breaks, pet taking a beating the whole time until the break occurs. If the pet lives after the encounter breaks it seems to create the bug I’m seeing. I start another encounter, different mob, soon as the mob dies the pets automatically runs after the mob I broke the encounter with from the previous battle. It seems to keep the other mob in the queue, even though I backed him off and broke the encounter.

Another pet problem, pet attacks seem delayed or not work at times. It usually requires me to hit the pet attack button a few times before I see it start to engage or even move. I would say about 15% of the time this occurs maybe a little higher.

Anyone else seeing these probs?

Message Edited by Nibblar on 10-27-2005 10:04 AM

Yes, I experience the "vengence bug" with my pet all the time. It's exactly as you say. My pet has even run all the way across Nektulos Forest to attack mobs around the waterfall after breaking an encounter up there and running all the way back to the Commonlands entrance. :smileysurprised:

I've had the problem with my Tellurian Scarab not attacking when i tell it to. Sometimes I ahve to hit the "pet attack" button multiple times and even have had to resort to typing in "/petattack"

My solution... when I decide to "cut-and-run" I always let my pet be the decoy while I get away. The pet dies so that I may live. Sometimes (when I'm at a safe distance) I might just flat out dismiss the pet if it manages to survive long enough and FD if necessary to clear the hate queue.

If you're up on a wall or rock or such, pet sometimes won't attack anything.

Now our targets have to be almost on the same horizontal plane as we are on before they'll attack; not always... but enough to be a pain in the butt.

I have often fought without difficulties on quite different horizontal planes - but there is a smooth perfectly walkable slope there, i assume you are walking about an unclimable cliffs.

Now... about that constant disapearing into walls and floors...
