<DIV>Ok, I'm a lvl56 necro, 60 alchy, sage, provis and lots of other things. Been playing since the dawn of time. I'm also around No. 30 on the server's wealth list and have well over 50 plat. Guess what? I can't buy anything that I need - specifically, master spells. There has been one master Siphon Life and assin pet on this server and I didn't see them before they sold. Now this necro who has them is a guildy and is a few levels lower than me and can about half the time beat my dps. That ticks me off.  I'd be more than happy to shell out 10-15 plat for a useful master but they just don't exist. I've looked for months but obviously missed the few times there was one on the broker. I've upgraded basically everything I can but the few items I wish I could upgrade, I can't.</DIV> <DIV>Anyone have ideas? I'm considering hunting other servers and doing a server move with a twink but that seems silly just to get one spell. </DIV> <DIV>BTW, as a side note, I chose the dogs to be master2. I'm reconsidering for siphon. Anyone found a significant upgrade by choising the dogs?</DIV> <DIV>Armus, Innothule</DIV>

Master I spells are so rare its silly. The odds of finding a Necro Master I on the market are slim to none. However, I'd put that 50 plat of yours to good use and make sure all of your spells are at least Adept III, and make sure your gear is at least Legendary.

<DIV>You need to spend your money making some connections that will keep an eye out for you. What good is being filthy rich if you can't hire people to help you expand your power and influence?</DIV>

<DIV>Yeah, really gota make a name for your necro so when a necromancer spell drops people think, "will he want to buy this."</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thats how I've gotten most of my masters. <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

It's not the amount of plat you have, it's how you spend it.  The person who is parsing higher than you may have a couple of things better than or is doing something different to optimize their DPS.  I would suggest in investing in high intelligence gear.  I would make sure that all of your spells are adept 3 or better.  Besides the given master 2's that we get to choose from, I have two master1 spells.  Revivication and Aspect of the Undead(level 47 resist buff).  In combat encounters while being grouped if you want to maximize your DPS you have to cast all of your damage based spells and use the assassin pet.  Necros can still take aggro away from MT's two levels above them in long fights like epics.  So while having master spells are nice they really aren't that much of a neccessity.

Necro masters used to be very common on brokers because the class was not considered "desirable" to play. Warlock masters used to be like hen's teeth because the class was so uber. Now the situation is exactly reversed. Warlock masters are quite common on the broker, Necro ones are virtually never seen.  <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>Depends on the server.... I know a couple necros who already have like 6 t6 necromasters.</DIV>

Thanks for not slamming me. I realize I have a more or less unusual amount of plat but ever since lvl38 I haven't found a need to spend it. I've always gotten rares to keep myself adept3 tight. I have the best gear I can, legendary at least. I even have a couple of fableds. I have been in a major raiding guild for months but even then, the amount of caster fableds that dropped were pretty rare, unlike the all fabled tanks. Still, gear doesn't matter as long as I have max intel and enough power. I've always had that. At lvl56, my adept3 Siphon Life hits for 1022 max. The lvl54's master1 hits for 1185 I think. Like I said, I just haven't found stuff to buy. I use the 3p horse (reduced to 2p for guild level) and see little reason to upgrade. I've even started outfitting alts just to have something to do. The only thing I can buy to make me do better at what necros do - DPS - is master spells. And they aint out there. It's like I've hit a brick wall because I can get no better (other than finishing to 60). <DIV>Armus, Innothule</DIV>

Necro Master spells do seem to be very rare. I got lucky long ago, and got two masters very cheap, Rotting thrall (70g), and Plague of rats (48g). I check both brokers at least once a day, and I go for days without seeing any, or just the same one or two. I recently won a level 54 coercer master, and checked the brokers to see what it might be worth. I saw at least seven or eight coercer master spells of varying levels for sale. I'd really like to find at least a couple more pet masters, esecially shadowy assassin, and diseased servant. One can always wish, I suppose.
