<DIV>As an alt, I started a necro and I really enjoy it. Nevertheless, for my main's a paladin and my first alt's a ranger, this one's quite different to play. *g*</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I did not care too much about equipment for the beginning, as you gain levels up to 30 fast. Now that he will be in that level soon, I wonder what equipment, especially armor / cloth and weapon / secondary, but jewelry as well, is best for that class?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So please post your ideas what's best to use when you reach 30 / 40 with a necro and why you think so... thanks in advance!</DIV>

First, get an imbued diseasd or imbued poison rare wand for your primary, as well as two chaos imbued hex dolls for your activatable slots. Then get tradeskill armor (specifically the ones with INT on it, IIRC those are head, legs, bracers). The rest of your gear can be a mixmatch of odd and assorted gear. Your primary stats you should be concentrating on are INT, Power, and HP. Mitigation is near worthless for us, as is Strength, so don't concern yourself too much with it. Wisdom is only useful for resists, and the benefit is so small you can safely ignore it. STA and AGI will come in handy, but again our melee defense is so pathetic you shouldn't worry too much about it.

<P>In addition to what Xalmat said, I would definately suggest that you look into the progressive quests in Enchanted Lands. The rewards are pretty good for a caster and the final reward is a nice robe. </P> <P>Also, along the way you may get some of the Fog Grinnin drops off of the creatures in EL which all have good INT on them, even if they do lack in most other stats.</P>

i wouldnt say strength was entirely worthless - it affects how much you can carry, and with mobs dropping coins nowadays, those coppers can soon add up and put you overweight if your str is very low. <div></div>

True, but if you're in an overland zone and you're too lazy to gate back home, you can always just mail your coppers back to yourself.Except when I was doing the Betrayal quest, I've never had problems with low STR.<p>Message Edited by Xalmat on <span class=date_text>10-19-2005</span> <span class=time_text>10:50 AM</span>

<DIV>No need to even send it. Go to one of the mail stations in Norrath, create a new letter to someone (possibly yourself), add all you money to the letter, and cancel the mail. It will be automatically changed to the fewest number of coins possible.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Kind regards, Rhajiid</DIV>

<P>Great coin tip.</P> <P>In your 30's, the cheapest but some of the best int armor is Fog Grinnin...Grimmin...Gri...whatever</P> <P>It drops from the turtles on the beach in EL and it has great int stats, and is not a robe.</P>

Another trick to convert your coins, is buy something at a vendor. As long as you dont close the vendor window, you can sell it back immediately for the same prices you bought it. So, for instance, buying something that costs 6 silver will convert 600 copper at a time to silver, just click on the sell tab, sell it back boom 6 silver instead of 600 copper.

<DIV>(1) Post banking (*g*) still works, though a little bit different than before. Let's say you have 11s and 1561c, apart from other coins. Open a mail, add 11*100 + 1561 = 2661c to it, and cancel. You'll have 26s 61c afterwards.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>(2) Thanks a lot for those tips, especially the fog grimmin cloth. What resources (rares) do you need for clothes, doll and imbued wand? afaik you need roots for the dolls, wood and extract for an imbued wand? And what for cloth, roots or leather?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Kind regards, Rhajiid</DIV>

<P>Doll = root + extract</P> <P>Wand = wood + extract</P> <P>VLA(cloth) = root + extract for chest/leggings if you want them imbued</P>
