I have had my servant on offensive when i was doing those monk faction quests and pulling a flame tornado resulted in it agroing giants and/or raptors that were close to the flame tornado. Unfortunatly i diddnt take the time to check logs(this quest is utterly horrible when mobs get contested you just want to kill as many as quick as possible) what exactly pet did there to agro the close by standing mobs which arent social in any way to flame tornados. Question would be is it the offensive stance or the bruiser alike fighting diseased servant. <div></div>

<DIV>The pets have no ae abilities that hit out of the encounter. Not sure what happened but it wasn't the pet doing an ae. I can try to test some aggro stuff later today in pof and see if i can determine what happened to you.</DIV>

Other mobs will assist the tornados. At least they do in Pillars of Flames.

Since the combat revamp I've noticed mobs seem to be social if you pull one while he's standing right next to another. This seems accurate with my 52 Inquisitor, 40 Warlock, and 35 Necro. Personally, I think it adds to the game as you actually must wait for the mob to single himself out rather than just pull at will. Our Berzerker has noticed it isn't as consistent when pulling with his body rather than casting some spell/ability. Either way, it can be a real surprise to see three triple-ups coming your way rather than the one you pulled. :smileysurprised:

<div></div>I have been fighting lots of tornados and when a giant passed real close to them they did not add up to support tornado, its just a think that happened 2 or 3 times when i sent in the pet in a crowd of few giants/raptors to pull me that tornado and once it has agro i back off the pet so the tornado would get in casting range. e.g. I remember that the pet runs to the target(tornado) stops a few meters away, raises its one hand and does some skill like i seen from bruisers with which it agros the mob from further away in this case it would agro close by standing giant/raptor too, then it runs up to the allready engaged and incoming target(tornado) (pet was in Nylphs skelletal regiment, i find the zombie having rather cheap graphics) good luck us all fiddling this out <div></div><p>Message Edited by metalord on <span class=date_text>10-18-2005</span> <span class=time_text>03:04 AM</span>

<P>Something's broken somewhere. I see this happening often when I duo my 29 Necro with a 29 Berzerker. I know he is not using an out of encounter AoE, and I have no idea what is causing it, but very frequently some nearby non-aggro mob will jump and and start attacking unprovoked during an encounter with something else. The only out of encounter AoE I have is Seism, which I'm not using. This happens with any pet type, the level 20 Warlock or the level 24 Fighter pet.</P> <P>Example: Killing rotting corpses in Crypt of Betrayal. The scarabs will often jump in (they are usually nearby, and non-aggro).</P> <P>The odd thing is I never see this happening when I solo, and neither does the Berzerker. It has to be one of us causing it. Maybe the pet's attacks sometimes (bugged) pull out of encounter, or, a taunt from the Berzerker does this (even though they're not supposed to). OR, different mob types are more social, whether intended or not, and seem to like to jump in when you are grouped (but not solo?).</P>

<DIV>I have never had non social mobs assist on a pet pull. I spent the last week pulling mobs on the monk quests and would always kill the wandering tornadoes to help contol mob population around where I was fighting. I often pulled them through groups of raptors, giants or anything else close. No adds here. A bit of a worry if we have a buggy taunt on our pet.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Sark.</DIV>

<DIV>If you get to an area where this is happening a lot try pulling with dooming darkness and see if you get the adds. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <DIV>If you don't, then it could be a pet issue.</DIV></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If having the tornado crawl through a bunch of mobs and not aggro doesn't put the social question to bed I don't know what will <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you could get this to happen with a static set of mobs you could really test it out. Pull with tank pet get adds, then FD to resist situation, pull with snare, don't get adds. That would be pretty convincing to me at least.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>greatscott</DIV>

I noticed this for the first time yesterday when i was hunting single ^^^ Giants in TS. Sometimes my pet (UA w/ Master 2 def stance) would return w/ 2! I was thinking that the first spell it was casting was some sort of AoE. Needless to say, i would run away.
