<P>The level 60 pet should of been a Spectre like in Sinking Sands. (Grim reaper looking thing) A mix of assassin and mage pet. </P> <P> </P> <P> </P>

<DIV>A million undead models in the game and yet we still are stuck with the same old models. There's no excuse for this laziness.</DIV>

<DIV>Yep, this is EASILY the lamest thing about our class. And it hurts cause I am reminded of it every time I log in.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This is the kind of thing that really gets under your skin. Not the balance issues, but 'little' issues like this. It takes zero manpower to change this, and make everyone happy. Make a decision, heck have a poll. And change it. Done, the end, every necro is a happy necro.</DIV>

Well i know the "Master 1" of "Diseased Servant" is the Stangely Stitched Zombie, or what used to be the level 20 training pet. Which is cool but getting the "Master 1" will take awhile. A few people got lucky when the loot tables were messed up right at release and got it. I haven't seen the "Master 1" of the "Nightshade Assassin", i don't even know if anyone has it yet though. I do wish one of our pets was a spectre though. <div></div>

<DIV>It is rather lame that EQOA, which is limited to what can fit on the disc and run on the PS2 without making it explode, has more interesting pet graphics than EQ2. All the necromancer pets except one can be seen here, in the Pets section:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><A href="http://www.cyclopsx.com/Archives/EQOA" target=_blank>http://www.cyclopsx.com/Archives/EQOA</A></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>IIRC the progression is dog skeleton, lesser skeleton, greater skeleton, dog zombie, zombie, greater zombie, mummy, greater mummy, spectre, greater spectre, bone swarm, and finally, a red spirit floating in a cloud of blood. Perhaps they're not a whole lot better than EQ2's zombie, textureless human, and whopping two colors of flaming skeletons, but at least there's some variety, and no reused graphics at different levels.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I would love to see that much variety in EQ2. Even if completely new graphics aren't introduced, there are several models in the game already that could fit into our pet lines somewhere. Skeletal gnolls and undead grinnins could be snuck into the Grim line at low-mid levels. UA could be changed to a rotting hound, and the humanoid zombie/mummy models used for higher level tank pets. Clothed skeletons, spectres (drool), Tseralith, etc. could be used wherever appropriate. And an undead monkey would rock. Just give us something different, please - no more human zombies and flaming skeletons in every tier!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>[/rant]</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You can see the EQOA magician (conjurer) pets on the cyclopsx page too, which, IMO, are impressive looking considering the limitations of the PS2 (except the fire elementalkin, which looks like a fruit roll-up). There are s'more interesting undead models in the Monsters section as well, which unfortunately weren't given to necros as pets, but perhaps the ideas could be "borrowed" for this game (I'd love to have a skeletal centaur trotting along behind me). :smileytongue:</DIV>

<P>This is such a reasonable request I'd like to hear an official word on what is the devs' opinion on it.</P> <P>Also, I'd like the master tank at 52 to look like those two giant skeletons in armor that are summoned in the Necromancer's Lair. Now that would look intimidating. As for the zombies...they're getting old like Resident Evil. Hell, some of the Halloween masks coming in the LU 14 update look more intimidating! How cool would be that flaming pumpkin head?</P>

Yeah the Zombie look is getting old, there are so many nice models that could be used, and we're stuck with the same ugly thing for all the way up.D'Morte's crypt has some nice undead models, skeletons in clothes and armor (that actually fits them, not like the pants our skellies had for a week <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> ). Give them a shield and sword and it would be perfekt for a tank pet. Even without the shield/sword it would be 20 times better than now.

I coulden't agree more. Run trough a zone and see all those SAME Necro pets is lame, its sooo easy just to give an new animation. Come on SOE, make this great class even better with some mroe pets <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>
I second everything said in this thread.

(okay 2 but did you ever see a master Tank pet spell drop? oder even hear that someone has it ?)</P> <P>Dmorte Skells would make cool models für our pets <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P>

<DIV>Yep, pretty dull and boring. </DIV> <DIV>I'd even be mildly content if they would just FIX THE FREAKING ZOMBIE ANIMATION!!!!!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I see my tank swing about once a fight.. maybe. It's ridiculous!</DIV> <DIV>Sometimes I throw up the assassin just to see my pet fight... :smileysad:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I know... use the skelly illusion... that's old.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Maybe they can give us a pet illusion, or make our tanks mimic another mob in the zone like they had in EQ1 for, I think, enchanters.</DIV>

<DIV>iirc at the roundtable discussion Xal recently attended they talked about putting in training paths. Well, basically that's what they were. They said kinda like AA's in EQ but not. Now, if you'd allow me to just dream for a second here, I'd like to see a system put in place where, as Necro's we could undertake a quest that forced us to choose a certain type of undead that we would like to control.</DIV> <DIV>For instance, let's say I chose to control ghosts and spirits. After I complete that lengthy quest my summoned pets are now ghosts, wraiths, misty pets, flying orbs of light, all that jazz. Or, had I taken a different path on the quest I would be allowed to control the undead, and I would then be able to summon mummies, ghouls, skeletons, lesser vampires, skeletal centaurs as someone said above. Or you could take even another direction and be able to control shadows and the pets you summon would be able to take on the shapes of creatures you are fighting or other group members, all in black outline of course ala the shadowy assassin line. The tank pet morphs into whatever mob you have it going up against, the mage pet morphs into an outline of you, and the scout pets morphs into either another scout in your group or maybe a panther or other kind of hunting cat. And another option a lot of people have talked about would be, say, corpse control. All of your pets would have to be summoned up from the corpses of creatures you've killed. Kill a Giant in TS? ressurect it to serve you as a tank. Problem would be having a giant following you around and then trying to walk around some of the houses in Rivervale. Yeah, there could definitely be some issues, but hey, I'm dreaming. </DIV> <DIV>And yes, I know I'm talking about things that will probably never happen but having different schools of mastery could make necros feel a little more unique. Of course the manpower it would take to make these changes would be ridiculous because if they gave this option to us they'd have to insert mastery schools for every class. Oh well, just a thought. </DIV>

However, we got stuck with a purple monkey for our level 38 adept tank pet.<hr></blockquote>Well i think he's referring to things like the "Master 1" caster pet, the gargoyle made of fire. The only place i remember ever seeing one was in nektropos castle as a conjuror mobs pet. I'm not saying you guys have a ton of variety but you get a little more then we do based on level and rank. Like from golem to the purple monkey(which i know alot of people dislike), or the female on fire, snake on fire, gargoyle on fire deal caster pet. Air pet from what i've seen stays the same. Only the higher level pets have a difference when they are Master 1 and those are the last ones that i know of. Like we always have a zombie that just gets bigger unless you get the Master 1 of the last tank pet. I would say you have a little more and a few things(if your lucky to get the master) that stand out a bit more. On a side note i think the first tank pet makes sense as a zombie, i think it should be something else later on.</span><div></div><p>Message Edited by Sonic X on <span class=date_text>10-17-2005</span> <span class=time_text>01:23 PM</span>

When we first get a zombie it makes sense but when ya get that high i would expect something different and not only the "Master" versions. Same for conjuror's, a few people got lucky and get the Master 1 of their last pet. Maybe we can convince them to make the adept 3 appearance the same as the Master 1 granted it won't be as powerful.</span><div></div>

<P>Aw c'mon guys... I mean its not like you use these spells often. :smileyvery-happy:</P> <P> </P> <P>Then again with the EXTREEME overuse of armor and pathetic faction 'reward' clothing, it doesn't seem so out of place.</P> <P>I think EQ2 has done very well in content and functional additions / completions since launch but the art team has been woefully understaffed or just too slow.</P> <P> </P> <P> </P> <P> </P> <P> </P> <P> </P> <P> </P>

Uh yeah, because I never use that pet spell... And it's not a matter of adding content. The content already exists. They just need to change which pet model function is called when the code executes. A first year computer programming major could handle that. It's laziness, pure and simple.

Anyone seen the infernal from Warcraft? My goodness, that is the pinnacle of pets.Something similar for 60 necros would be amazing.Don't even bother calling me a WoW fanboy, I am just pointing out a good peice of artwork. If the infernal is not a Warcraft specific creature, maybe sony could look at it one day.
