<DIV>Hey guys, </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I just wanted to through this subject out there since I have ran across quite a few mobs in DoF with disease immunity or at least very high resists, some who are the same way to poison as well.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Mobs that come to mind are Flowmaster Utat, Flowmaster Moru and High Priestess for the vessel quest (she is both poison and disease highly resist/immune) in Living Tombs; and Karmut the Conqueror in Silent City. (Im sure there are alot more, but these are the ones I have ran into lately)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I usually use my tank pet if the mob is more resistent to slashing and my scout pet otherwise. I let the dogs loose and then chain cast my Words of Force spell and keep swarm of bats running. Other than that I just spot healed the pally a time or two and cursed my stun for being disease based (not that I want that changed because in most cases its always good for another lich proc) Also I turn lich off, because it just drains my hp and non off my disease based spells will land and even if they did the proc would be resisted.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I didnt think to open my knowledge book and sling some static pulses at it or anything (not that it would add significant dps).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So pretty much our nukes, dots, lifetaps, stuns, roots, lich, snares etc etc dont work and we are limited to pets (whose special attacks dont work) dumbfire pets (whose specials dont work) exchange life (which can only be used a time or two since we cant regain the hp using lifetaps or lich procs) and our scaling DD and a dot.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anything obvious Im missing?</DIV>

Scout can use piercing instead of slashing for those slash resistant mobs <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />. <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>That's pretty much how you have to do it though, a large chunk of our flexibility goes out the window against a disease immune mob. We're probably about as bad off as most mages when coming across certain immunities and better off than warlocks.</DIV>

<P>To change the scouts damage do you just resummon and look at his weapons? Seems easy enough if this is the case.</P> <P>And I have to agree that we are better off than warlocks in these types of fights, I think our warlock couldnt do much more than mana feed on the High Priestess.</P>

<DIV>Yeah, just resummon 'til you see a rapier (piercing) or short sword (slashing) on his right hip.</DIV>

Thanks for the tip! I always noticed he could be summoned with different weapons, just never thought about changing his damage type to suit the encounter.

That's what I'm here for... should probably put it in the FAQ, don't know why I never thought of it.
Wow, never noticed the different weapons on the scout. Guess I should pull him out a bit more hehe. Waiting for the lvl 60 though.

<div></div>I agree on putting this in the FAQ. I had no idea myself and its quite an important thing to know IMO.btw, great work on the FAQ El Chupacabras <span>:smileyhappy:</span> Weee!<<Edit for typo>><div></div><p>Message Edited by Kniives on <span class=date_text>10-13-2005</span> <span class=time_text>11:00 AM</span>
Question. I notice that sometimes my assassin does conciderably more damage than others. Could this be becasue some special attacks require a piercing weapon to do? Has anyone parsed the assassin damage enough to notice that if it spawns with 2 slashing weapons that it doesn't do backstabs of special attacks like that?

<P>If the pet lands shadestrike and unseen blade right away your pet will parse out quite high. The CA's that seem to require a specific weapon has a CA counterpart with the other weapon ie. throat gash for slashing vs. wispy garrotte for piercing.</P> <P>The pet doesn't actually lose any abilities due to choosing one damage type or the other, he parses out about the same with both. The big hits (shadestrike and unseen) are the same no matter what weapon he's using, only the status effects change with him.</P>
