FYI

Little frustration as I upgraded my Rending Frenzy Master II choice with the new Rending Fury lvl 54 adept III ...... it's simply a waste of a rare to do it.... exact same stats for the 2 spells .....

But I still believe that 14 lvl diff between 2 spells even Master II compared to Adept III shouldn't be the same..

Saratane

Well that sucks.

Luckily I do not have the master 2 and this will be an upgrade for me (having it made as of last night.)

If you didnt scribe it yet, maybe hold on to it to see if it is ever needed by you, if not, sell it for a profit.

Problem with not upgrading is that mobs will start resisting it when the pet hits them at higher levels. So even though you have a master 2 buff on ole' dead man walking its not doing you any good.

Fury and frenzy are just "DPS" and haste buffs... since they don't actually have a hostile spell effect you should be able to use them as long as you want.

I was under the impression the rending ling was a offensive proc, so it had to hit the mob and not be resisted to take affect on pet.

I could be wrong, it has happened before.

Ad3 rending fury increases your pets attack speed and DPS by 22%.

20% chance when hits a mob to proc for 10 seconds, (or is it 20)

50% chance to proc when the pet is hit

100% chance to proc when the pet kills a mob with the death blow.

So not a direct damage spell but a buff to make your pet attack faster and harder.

Whooppee, it increases that 22% number to 25%. So it's actually a small upgrade over the Master of the spell 14 levels lower. I guess it's reasonable for this one to hardly grow in itself, because it's a % buff to a pet which does grow with levels.

That is really lame. A T6 spell at adept III is exactly the same as a T5 master? I have rending frenzy master I and it is grey to me and yet I will not upgrade to rending fury because it does nothing better. So I will be using a grey spell, I will not waste a rare until they change this. That seems like someone didn't upgrade that spell properly, I cannot believe that is how it is supposed to be. Also, look at the pet stances. Grisly Stele at master II gives 16.5% more hp (which is low imo), and the T6 counterpart Grisly Ward at master I gives only 16%. This is a whole tier higher and it gives LESS hp bonus than the master II of the tier lower. Yet it blows all of the other stats out of the water. Grisly Stele is like 400 less magic resist and like 15% or so less hate gain, but yet it gives more HP? I don't think the dev's have completely finished all the pet stances because that makes no sense, and if they have finished them then they need to upgrade that T6 spell because it definately is not right. I am definately doing some /feedback and /bug to get someone's attention.

From the top of my head Rending Frenzy (lev40) in Adept3 quality has 18.9% .

So difference between Adept 3 and Master 2 on lev 40 is 3% pet DPS increase

Overall it does not scale very well and is not really great choice for Master2 IMHO.

Not to get off topic here, but I had a question about the haste from Rending Fury ad3 at 22% and the lvl 54 Master II choice Voice of the Departed at 51% stacking. I know that haste stacking is usually one passive buff, buff from item and proc I think, so I am guessing that they do not stack, but want to make sure before I upgrade to ad3 Rending Fury, or pick the M2 Voice of the Departed. Thanks for any insight!

Fury/Frenzy is a proc, words/voice is a passive so they stack.

Well, it looks like a base 22% haste on Rending Fury AD3, the proc is separate. That is why I was asking. Cause that would give the pet 73% haste with both up.

the reason they didn't up the hp % on the next defensive line is because the pet lvls himself and thus his hp base gets larger with each subsequent lvl and if the % on the buff were to be increased it would get out of hand how many hps our pets would have.

the reason for the .5% reduction is because of the reduction in the quality of the spell from M2 to M1. as you stated the rest of the effects of the spell went up so it would still obviously be an upgrade even if the health % isn't increased.

Message Edited by hoosierboy750 on 10-18-2005 01:34 PM
