I noticed it yesterday. My zombie has defaulted to staring the enemy to death. But it's only sometimes. Yesterday I was grouped and he never once picked up his arms (not even when he was hit)(I was using the tank pet because the paladin had app1 taunts).

Anyone else notice this?

I noticed the same thing last night too. I hadn't played my necro for a few days, so I couldn't say how long this has been happening. Must rename pet to [Removed for Content] now.

I have to agree, I sometimes don't see my pet doing anything, however it shows up as doing something in the combat spam.So it seems to me that only the animation is broken, which of course is pretty stupid too.Especially it might look to others that the pet isn't doing anything

Also

Asside from standing around like a stature my pet defaulted to the most helpfull setting of ignoring me. Would not engage mobs when i pressed the little red button, either on my hotbar or his window. I think it is because of all the offensive names that he has been called lately - but cant be sure. Resummoning the pet cleared the I-Will-Not-Attack attitude but i did not see any animations. This was in RE and Everfrost.

Thanks SOE (gits)

I've noticed this as well. It's been kinda spotty since LU13. Also I have notice lately what Sulpeel was saying. Sometimes I have to tell it attack up to 4 times before he actually does anything. I've only noticed that within a group though.

Yeah, what a bust. I'd say about 15% of the time it swings for me. Maybe they will fix again in LU14

My Ghastly Stench swings all the time but my pet hardly ever swings.

I had to switch back to my adept 3 TRecruit. My zombie either wouldnt listen to me, would just stand behind the mob or completely refuse to taunt.

Has anyone else noticed (now granted my new zombie is just app 4) but he doesnt taunt worth crap. I'll send him into a group of 2 or 3 and either he aggros the one he hits and the other two run straight for me and wont come off until he kills the one hes on or all 3 just come at me. Happens about 60% of the time i'd say.

My RT taunts wonderfully. I can send him in to a group of highwaymen and he'll have 2 of 3 on him from the start. A few seconds later they're all on him. No need to change targets.

I've not notice the pets not responding trick yet, what zone were you in when it happened? Might be a pathing issue.

I just found it frustrating to read the LU13 notes where it said "All summoned pets will now have attack animations" then it turns out our key pet sometimes has an animation attack.

Mine was behaving funny in Runnyeye the other night, but it has been pretty good since. I do lose animation when fighing HUGE groups of down arrows (EL Deer). Sometimes the pet also stalls then. He'll kill one, then not be able to decide which of the other 8 attcking him or me to hit next (no combat spam). A quick "pet attack" fixes it though. -T

I've experienced the "statued pet" trick. It managed to wipe half the group (2 necros, 2 healers 2 assassins. Pet's were the tank) It happened in FG (known for pathing problems)

That wasn't the issue for me though, we were at the pool of Precilla fighting the zombies. We were clearly in the open and my pet just stood there the entire time. No message about not being able to send the pet to attack. It was like he was rooted and stunned.

It has to just be the animation. I use combat stats and saw my Zombies contributions in terms of DPS but he never moved at all when engaged.

My pet was the tank for the group. It would be easy to see if he was taunting or fighting. And I do have all the jazz stuff on (not 100% sure how to turn it off, don't care to). He started the fight with a taunt, he pulled. Then that was it.

It's not a big issue for me, I hardly use my tank pets anymore. Was just contributing my experience.

after the patch my little stink bug app4 was an amazing taunting tank machine then i hit the mid 20's and he stopped levelling with me so switched to the zombie and as said earlier in the thread he just don't taunt worth a [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]. The slightest cast from me sends the group of mobs he engaged to me (if he ever managed to hold them in the first place). Add in the stupid must do 1hp direct damage and i have a choice of taking hits or losing exp.

It's not a difficult problem to solve, up the taunt on the zombie tank and everything else is bearable.

Seen the no animation bug but when solo at least he is still doing damage.

A couple pet things I've noticed: I've been getting a TON of "you cannot order your pet to attack that" errors with my assassin pet (with me directly in front of the mobs in SS on fairly level ground). No reason for it...I can be on top of the mob, no hinderances....*I* can attack the mob...but the pet refuses. So, because of this I decided to switch to the zombie and see if I get the same message.... I have yet to get the "can't attack" message, however...there's definitely something glitchy with him. He goes a couple fights, then stops attacking/taunting completely. I've now died twice because he simply stopped doing anything (checked the combat spam lto make sure....nada). I have master 1 RT and was using defensive stance. /annoyed

I just recently started playing a necromancer (hit 26 yesterday) and the major thing I'm noticing is that the Undying Adherent (Adept III) is an absolutely pitiful tank compared to the Tellurian Recruit (Adept III). I asked the other necromancer in my guild (who's 51-52), and she said she never had that problem, mainly because she never used Undying Adherent (prior to the CU, you guys got the training pet at level 20). The problem with the Undying Adherent is that it just does NOT taunt as much as the Recruit, making it much easier to gain the mob's attention and much harder for the pet to take the attention away from you.

I keep noticing the same thing. I do arena runs on difficult and usually when I send my rotting thrall adept 3 to initiate the fight he taunts right away. If I see it is resisted I would keep waiting till he taunted again and it seems to me he never does it. I can cast on the mob 1 minute after pet has been on it and it will turn for me immediately. I never died before this last patch in the arena but now I have had 2 times when my pet will not taunt the mob off me and I've only casted one spell. Rooting and stunning to give pet more time to regain aggro didn't help at all. What is the point of the tank pet if he can't taunt anything off us. We sure don't use them for their damage...

You can get the pet to re-taunt if you back it off and re-attack a few times. Taunts are in the combat rotation, but they are pretty far apart, Zombies seem to like to lead off w/ it. I was still using my undying adherant post CC (adept 1), and he taunted a lot, he actually taunted more often then my Thrall (also adept 1) does. The UA taunt animation is faster too. -T

i say we drop our currant pets an SoE can give us all master 3 skellie/zombie dragons

and not those wussy house pet ones i mean big [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] nasty ones.:smileymad:

my adept 3 UA is a hell of a lot better than my tell recruit adept 3, though i liked the spiders look better. for several nights i have been grouping and my UA has been the main tank. with all the healing and nuking going on he barely ever loses hate.

he does lose attack animations a lot but honestly as long as im not getting pounded on i dont mind, heck the [Removed for Content] zombie pet is so bland, generic and uninventive i could care less if it does something, i just dont like looking at it.

i spend most of my time in harclaves not for the xp (i dont like soloing all the time) but so i can pull out my grim spellbinder and in a level and a half my sweet assasin.

I didn't have this problem until recently, but my zombie's taunts seem to be screwed up too. My Undying Adherent taunts at first, but if he loses aggro, he doesn't seem to taunt again. I'm left fearing, rooting or just trying to blast the hell out of the mob to keep it off me and kill it fast. Most of the time, the only way I can get the mob to attack my pet again is to root, back way off, let the zombie [Removed for Content] it off a little, then continue. Otherwise, my minion does not get the aggro back, even if I stop casting. I usuallly try to stay aggro conscious and don't nuke the hell out of a mob, but lately my zombie just can't seem to keep it.

Just made 24 recently and leveling has slowed to a crawl because the pet just can't hold aggro. Gotten to the point I just sic the pet and the rats on most things and let them beat the mob down. If I start casting much of anything the mob is on me immediatly. Sure, once every half hour I can use pitiful plea to get mobs off me, but feh. Gonna try to get an adept 3 version and see if that helps any (have adept 1 now), but given that his aggro holding isn't even close now I don't know how much good it'll do.

Undying adherant has always had problems when he was first granted at 24. He needs a couple levels to grow into his clothes... at 24 he is pretty bad though in a few levels you should see a marked improvement.

I have been having the same problems since I got my UA at 24, and I'm 26 now. It seems like my AD3 Tellurian Spider was a better tank, even though the zombie has more HP. My UA is AD3 but he does the same staring contest animation where he doesn't move, seems like I tell him to attack a mob and it takes him several seconds to respond, or several times I've gotten the "You cannot order your pet to attack that object" type error, but I can cast on the mob or attack it myself and THEN my pet will jump in, but then he has problems getting aggro off me. I've also had difficulties with his aggro control, several times I've been upset by my pets actions...send him to pull a mob and the mob goes straight for me! And I haven't casted a darn thing on the mob...pet taunts and SOMETIMES he gets aggro....a few times he couldn't pull the mob off me no matter what.

It doesn't happen all the time but it IS happening...and I'm glad I'm not the only one noticing...I hope SOE see's these posts and pays at least enough attention to check into it.

Murasa
Necromancer of 26 EVILS
Avenging Light
Neriak Server

All I've discovered through two levels with the UA is:1) be patient. let the zombie get a couple rounds of combat in before you do ANYTHING.2) if the pet seems to lead off with a detaunt (which seems to be what happens given that the pet charges mob, mob bolts straight for me after the zombie attacks, and it takes a LONG time for him to get it back off me, even if I haven't done anything at all), hit the mob with a stun and back off, he seems to switch to the zombie immediatly and stay there after that.3) if fighting a group, manually make the zombie attack each of the mobs, his AE taunts seem nigh worthless, but if you let him get a smack in on each occasionally he'll hold aggro.Hoping the new defensive stance that includes a damage shield will make life better.
