Whats the deal?

<P>I assume you are referring to the Accursed Cloud line and the Drawing of Souls spell (pestilent soul?).</P> <P>I LOVE these spells!</P> <P>The only thing is you the radius of effect is centered on you, not the mob that you have targetted with the spell.  This means you are going to have to get right in the think of things before you cast them.</P> <P>Once you get the hang of it these spells are great.  Between Torrential Plaguex2, Accursed Cloud, Pestilent Soul and the Lich procs you can do over 3k damage to the entire area in 10.5 seconds (or so).  Use this on a group of blue heroics and pick off the ones that resisted with a lifetap or two and you are gtg.</P>

<P>Accursed Cloud rocks!  Asside from the aggro you can get from it, you can do a huge amount of damage with Lich form on.</P> <P>The AE soul spell is pretty nice too but sadly doesn't trigger the lich proc.</P>

<DIV>Gotta admit, these are 2 of my favorite spells as well. The only problems I've ever had with my pbaoe's is that when I'm fighting higher con mobs half of them may resist, but I do see the resisted message float up from them. I've used this spell just about everywhere and I've never had the terrain affect the spell. I'll hit everything in Feerrott even with its roots and hills and other horrible obstructions just becuase the stuff there is green to me while I can be fighting orange guards in Maj'Dul in a flat courtyard and the spell will only damage maybe 3 out of 5 mobs due to resists.</DIV>

<div></div>I've noticed similar things.  Could be there are times when it lets you cast when really you are out of range.  You then get a message like "no valid target" or something to that effect.    I didn't realise it effected the area around you and not around the target .   I only realised this when I was agroing mobs behind me and checked the spell description. <div></div><p>Message Edited by Uanelven on <span class=date_text>10-04-2005</span> <span class=time_text>08:01 AM</span>

<P>Well, I dident realise that it effected the area around me, and not the area around the target either, maybe thats it then.</P> <P>But, when I think about it, im almost sure, that there are times where I have been standing in the middle of the crow casting this thing, and having the same thing happen to me, that it wouldent land. To me, it still feels like I have to get the mobs out on a plan surface in order for the spell to land.</P> <P> </P> <P>Will test it some more tonight, hopefully I will see that it is just me that got it wrong.</P>

<P>I've never had a problem with the radius of this spell.</P> <P>In fact, I was running a quest with a warden where I had to kill 1000 sentient being.</P> <P>We would run from orc tower to orc tower we would pull every group around it to me and I would PBAE one shot 20-30 mobs at a time.   AWESOME!  lol.</P> <P>There's something strangely poetic about watching a ring of 25 mob drop dead at your feet.  Muahahhaha.</P>

<P>I cast accursed cloud on hills, on rocks, on flat ground....anywhere and it works fine.</P> <P>If you were not sure it was PBAOE I would assume that is the issue.  </P> <P>Go back and test it tonight and stand in the middle of the mobs and then check to see if it lands properly.</P> <P>If still not working for you, /bug it.</P>

<P>Tested it tonight, and for both my PBAEs, I would get that "Iligal tagerget" message, when I was out of range.</P> <P>So, the spell is centered around me, and not around my target, that is for sure. Just od, that I still get that message from time to time when im using it close to the mobs. Must be the way the resist message works then....</P>

<P>By chance were you harvesting and maybe had a node or something else targeted when you cast?</P> <P>That may cause the message.</P> <P>I am at a loss...I have yet to see this and I use this spell all the time everywhere.</P>
