One rare spell component. Which to Adept III (20-29)

<DIV>I'm a 29 necromancer and recently stumbled upon some rough jasper (i think).  I'm told through the trade channel that it's worth a lot of money or can be used to make an Adept III 20-29.  I currently have stocked up adept I's for all my pets to level 40 except for the Undying Adherant.  Can't find anything but apprentice IV.  So I'm thinking I should go with adept 3 Undying Adherant.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have master Lifetap and Adept I everything else.  I'm hoping the adept Spellbinder will do enough DPS for groups and the adept III adherant will make life more enjoyable solo.</DIV> <DIV><BR>Any thoughts?</DIV> <DIV><BR>Or should I just sell it and save the coin for higher level spells?<BR><BR>Any input appreciated.</DIV>

Definitely make the Undying Adherant adeptIII, especially if you do any time soloing. As a lvl 29 you're going to be using the UA as your tank pet for the next 9 levels or so (I think you get the rotting thrall at around 3<img src="/smilies/b2eb59423fbf5fa39342041237025880.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> and an adptIII will make taking down mobs (and therefor getting loot) much easierAnodoel37 necrofaydark

Either will serve you well.I had a real abundance of rares for T3 (FIVE, though saving one to make a palladium torque with), and took tank pet, offensive stance, pestilential blast (lvl 29 nuke), and bloody ritual, with my rats having been my master II choice. If I had gotten the rares earlier in the range I would have taken lifetap, but since I was 30 when I made some of the last ones, I took the 29 nuke and am going to wait for the lvl 35 lifetap. But if you're early in the range, I'd take lifetap over lvl 29 nuke or bloody ritual (ritual's OK, but not fantastic).

<P>Hmm thanks for the advice. Im getting close to 28, so not that early. I took rats as my master II, and Ive gotten by on an app IV lifetap, I think I can manage with that til 35. I didnt realize we got a nuke at 29, either that or Boon of The Lifeless it is I guess. When is our next Defensive pet stance?<hr></blockquote>You will get it VERY soon: grisly brace at lvl 28.And I'd actually recommend AGAINST using it for pestilential blast (lvl 29 nuke). Word of Force from splitpaw is just as good as the adept3, and will scale up to be BETTER. Though I'll admit I feel less like a necro using it, so there is that factor. I think you'd be most happy with using a 2nd rare for Boon of the Lifeless, as it really does do well for the offensive stance. I'm getting by pretty well on an adeptI defensive until I take it as my master II choice at 34, so I wouldn't use a second rare on that either. And while bloody ritual is not bad adept3, I don't think it gives as much benefit as an improved offensive.

Wont bother wasting one on Grisly Brace, if that is a training option at 34, will take Master II there. Dont use Bloody Ritual too often, but it comes in handy. I use that partially because there's almost-no difference in damage (for now), it's SLIGHTLY less mana, and I also felt distinctly less "necro-ish" from using it. I FINALLY have replaced all of my summoner spells (well, except for chains, though that's next level) with necro-equivalents, and so fully FEEL like a necro, then this lightning bolt comes along? It just didn't feel right. So until I start severly missing out on damage from not using WoF (I mean a LOT, not a bit), I'll keep with the necro ones. It also helps with the agro IMO, since the damage is slightly more spread-out.Still, that "feel like a necro" thing is pretty important to me. Not critical, but still, I much prefer my disease-based spells so I can keep that feeling. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

What about Mend Bones? Pretty weak, almost not worth casting at app 1, is the Adept III worth using? Anyone have Mend Bones AD3?
