Level 29 Necromancer

I send tank pet in. (defensive stance). When I see the mob take damage, I do the following.

Cast Grisly Brace. (Sta decrease)

Cast Rats.

Cast Bludgeoning Earth (Yes, I took this as master, I was new at the time).

Immediately hit Heroic Opportunity.

Cast Pestilential Blast.

Cast Blight (While PB is recycling).

Finish with Pestilential Blast (or Blight if HO triggers it).

This takes around 10 seconds.

Mob is usually 50%.

If power is fine, I'll throw in a lifetap and finish with HO PB PB

If not, I'll tap pet (adept1) and mend bones (adept1) and lifetap if necessary.

Mob seldom survives.

I have yet to find a use for Clinging Darkness as it's broken so easily. Keeping the full spectrum of DoT's (Pet, Rats, Pestilential Blast, Bludgeoning Earth, Blight) on the mob all the time is tricky-as is learning how to effectively maximize power and pet health. But once you get the hang of it, it's effective. I went from the Thundering Steppes entrance to Splitpaw Upper Tunnels all the way to the bottom (with the chests) and only sat down twice. Good water and tactics is key.

I know I'm not 30 as you mentioned, but I'm sure the basic tactics will apply: Manage power/pet health, cycle DoTs religiously, and keep fire and forget pets on all single mobs.

Well, I don't know how good an execution it is, but here's what I do...pet has guard me and guard self activatedcast hot on pet then target mobsnare, send in pet, withering affliction (I used to start w/ sending the pet in, but what with the xp changes figured I'd throw in a quick dot or two. Only problem is that I sometimes have agro for a hit or two, but my pet takes them off me pretty quickly) Sometimes I'll pause for a second before proceding to let the pet get the hate well settarget the second mob in the group have pet attack then use ghastly stenchtarget the 3rd mob in the group have pet attack and send in ratscycle through rest of the mobs if there are any and have pet attack while hitting them with a dot each -- I alternate between snare (because of the dot component) and withering affliction until I get back to the first mob. depending on the level of the mob, i may not have the pet attack each additional mob until I've cycled back to the first mob. it depends on how much agro I think I might get. After I'm back at the first mob, i sic the pet on it and have him take it downLife tap and then xfer life to heal pet, cast pest. blast (? -- the really quick dot) then swarm of locuststarget next mob in group and cast pb. if there's no chance of getting an add i'll cast breath of unearthed but ya gotta be real careful as it seems to have a wide aoe. otherwise, lifetap again, heal pet (either hot or xfer life) refresh dots, cast pest. blast, locust swarm, lifetap, heal pet. depending on hp left on the mob, i'll either cast rats on it or cycle to the next mob in the group and cast swarm on that one. After that mob's down, i'll target the next mob in the group and repeat.I'm sure there are better approaches, but I've found this works well for me. I spend 95% of my time soloing. With this approach 5+ green mobs fall like butter. a group of 4 green heroic mobs are also easy, and 5 green heroics makes for a little excitement. a group of 2-3 blue heroics is doable, but close. I don't go after white con heroics or higher, so I wouldn't know the effectiveness there.Almost all my spells and my pet are adept 1 -- nothing higher except for the training options (swarm of rats and grisly brace(?))Anodoellvl 37 necrofaydarkedit: depending on my power consumption, somewhere in there I'll tap the pet for power -- typically when i'm between 70-80%. I usually follow this procedure:lifetap, hot on pet or xfer life depending on the pet's health, tap power, maybe follow with whichever heal i didn't use earlier or soothe servant. it depends on the pet's health at the time
Message Edited by bluegod on 09-26-2005 05:08 PMedit 2: ok. i've been thinking about this (I only have a chance to play 1x a week) and i'm not 100% sure i've taken any blue heroic mobs since after the lu, so ignore that bit... doh!
Message Edited by bluegod on 09-27-2005 05:16 PM
