guys what is now an "average" intelligence score after the recent revamp of things? (I dont know if the changes affect int)

I keep hearing necros talking about int of 320 but at lvl 48 mine is nowhere NEAR that!

320 is way high IMO. I've heard warlocks have such and better numbers though. Mine is 295 and I might could tweak it to get to 300, without a potion. I'm considering using them though, they might give a good boost.

Armus, lvl50 necro on Innothule

lvl50 alchy too

Depending on race, someone just coming up on 50 would average out at about 200 int self-buffed. Depends on gear of course and how you build your character (my stats are actually fairly low for someone that's been 50 for five months) but 200 self buffed is about right for an average player that doesn't regularly raid.

have to agree is all based on class and gear and few spells

i can self buff to 321 int with about 4270power but im eridite and picked all int/power traits and have semi decent gear and all adept 3 or master spells

on a side not 3 items that boost int by large chuncks -- prismatic-- hand of chandra--Girdle off Kdal ..... only been lucky enough to get my prismatic so far

Yeppers

Off the top of my head, legendary crafted linen items (you can wear them at 40+) give a bonus of +9. Stein of whatsit (either the HQ or the one that farie drops) give +15 int. A wand crafted from the T5 legendary wood gives (i think) +10 int. Rare hex dolls come in at +11 and +12 for the T4 and 5 crafted ones (+6 and +7 for the non rare ones?) Of course you could have 2 of these if you so wished. Necklace of Flowing Orbs is, I believe, +11 and is usually on broker for half what you can make runnig through ALL of the mobs in Harclave once on difficult. Cant remember the +int bonus for GEBs, Eye patch and Invoker robe but there are probably quite good. And there are always the semi rare (or even rare!) imbued rings that come in at aprox +10 for T5, although I am not sure if 2 +int rings would stack and dont want to spend the money to find out!

After that there is food and potions as well as buffs but my knowledge of these bonuses is crap. If you followed all of the above then you would have an uberised toon (admitedly sans prismatic / mythical etc) but even if you got your mucky paws on a couple of rares and the HQs then this should provide a nice int boost

Hope this all helps and posters please feel free to correct my +int values

Heyas, I think I have about a 244 self buffed INT. My gear is far from great, but most of it is treasured/legendary and most of it was easy to get. Here are some of the higher +INT items I have and where to get them.

Head - Tae Ew Mystic Silk Cap +10 INT - easy Feerrott series quest reward

Shoulders - Sleeves of the Swamp + 14 INT easy Feerrott series quest reward

Forearms - Muculent Bracers +11 INT (forget where they came from

Hands - Cackler Hide Gloves +9 INT of Crimson Cackler in Clefts of Rujark - solo named

Legs - Pristing Imbued Constructors Bloomers +??INT - legendary T5 crafted (over 10 but forget offhand and at work)

Feet - Jboots +6 INT or I have some no drop ones from Anvilpaws Grotto that are +12 INT I think when I dont need the runspeed

Activate - Hex Dolls - +12 INT each for T5 rare (I only have a lower tier INT one now and need to get new ones. Was using AGI ones primarily before revamp)

Primary - Pristine Disease Imbued Cedar Wand +12 INT player crafted T5 rare

Secondary - Preserved Splitpaw Eye +16 INT and + to focus (I think) my only fabled, drop from Anvilpaw

Waist - Archaist Waist Wrap +5 INT drop off Stonecrusher in Clefts of Rujark - solo named

Wrist - Treedin's Mystical Symbol +5 INT Drafling tower access quest reward

Wrist - Arcane Champions Wristband +10 INT reward for completing solo arena

Ring - Gleaming Soul Eaters Band +10 INT Feerrott quest

Ring - Ring of Delights +10 INT easy solo quest in Sinking Sands

Ear - Hoop of insight +6 INT drop in EF of any named mob

Neck - Necklace of Flowing Orbs +11 INT collection quest

Total over 155 int

That's it for me. All those are fairly easy to get, and the secondary item can be easily replaced with either the Stien of Moggok or Tartons Wheel - both fairly easy quests.

Thanks,

Also, remember that after revamp health becomes quite important so be sure not to neglect your stamina .

As an example, using Nimmh's list (a good list btw) you could trade out the 11 int flowing orbs for the permafrost rem eye necklace with 8 int but much higher stamina and health.

I generally try to juggle my stats a little, intelligence is always the priority but I won't completely forsake the stamina stat for it. Guess what I'm saying is, you don't have to try and get the uber highest intelligence as a necro, if you're gonna gain some health out of an item it certainly isn't something to discount since so many of our spells use health now.

Good point Chup:smileyhappy:

I pretty much look at int/power first - usually siding with int > power since int will add to power pool and give a damage modifier.

Then I look at hp/sta, as Chup said hp is more important now that some of our spells cost hp (lich, pet heal, hp xfer).

Finally I look at resists - I have a bag full of gear to switch in and out for heat/cold/poison/disease/magic/mental resists when the need arises, but that is usually only for raid situations. Still, its always good to have that complete set of Tundra Walkers and a few Treedins Symbols for heat and cold and various other pieces.

Since we all got a nice power pool boost with the revamp, and our hp pools remained relatively the same - I have been wondering if it would be more advantagious to go with either the hp pool or hp regen character options over the power pool increase that I usually take. Anyone have any opinions on that?

Also, max power pool directly effects your incombat regen from lich. At ad3 it returns 2% of your max power a tick. So at level 50 you are at your in combat regen cap of 75 with only a powerpool of 3750 - which I am nearing with average gear. So in long fights, your total power you can draw from is more based on your regen then your base pool and since we can pretty easily hit the cap for the power regen, it makes + power items less worthy to us after 3750 (at lvl 50) is reached.

At now lvl 46 (as of this morning) my unbuffed int is 188 and with buffs i ended up around 233 last I checked. I do have some hith int items but certainly lots I need to upgrade. I found that the fog grinnin sets of armor are good for now still but you could check for your own character any time. Updates of anythign I bought were cheap and so afr the best neck item I found was the necklace of flowing balls or whatever. 14+ int or something like that.

I made level 50 quite easily and normally in battles mana never became much of an issue at all. I am just quite suprised at the disparity in INT and in turn mana pool size for Necros who reached 50. I always bought the best crafted gear and most of my spells are Adept 1 or greater. All things being equal there should not be a 200 point gap. Unless their is a racial bug I cannot think of anything that would cause such a great difference. EQ2 racism LOL. Koupa DeVille Najena

If you look at my gear, some of it is grey. I'm wearing cuffs of the Storm scholar, gnawler fur pantaloons, ancient slayer's ring of int., etc. I never felt the need to upgrade my gear for each tier (I see so many lvl 50 casters wearing tundra gear.. why?)

My policy is "If I'm taking damage, something's gone wrong". With that thought in mind, I don't see the need to upgrade items by their colour. The better the int on the item, the more I want it. Unless it had +600 to power.

I'm level 38 with 93 sta and 120 int. However, I've roughly 1950 hp and 2150 power. So far even when taking on 4 yellows, have yet to run into power problem. If I ever run into power problem, the extra hp will come in handy when using manastone to convert hp to power. Also the life transfer at master 2 takes 500++ hp. I believe +sta and +hp gear is better for survival. Mostly I go for int gear with +sta and +hp even though the int/power might be lower. The extra few points of damage with high int is nice but the extra hp to me is worth even more when soloing. The 2 pet heals takes hp, so you need lots of hp and hp regen to counter them. So far I have no problem going for more balanced int/sta approach than completely int/power.

As a 23 Necro, who hasn't really had a chance to look at upgrading gear since I hit 20 last night, then made it to 23 in a couple of hours, so I haven't hit the broker yet. . . . Anyway, 23 High Elf Necro with only about 88 INT, I think. Once I get my gear upgraded I should be able to get into the 120's. Once I get to about 30, I think I should be able to get about 160 or maybe a bit higher.

My 32 Warlock (pre-revamp) was at 203. Post-revamp she's now at 173. And that's with focusing on +INT items to the exclusion of all else. As a result, all her other stats and resists kinda suck, really. But since she doesn't get hit much, it doesn't really matter overall. Well. . .it didn't before. I haven't really played the 'lock since the revamp, but have instead been focusing on finishing the Necro's betrayal, then working a few Necro levels in.

The necro seems a much better solo-er than the warlock ever was. So far, anyway. Being a 1-person group (pet = tank, my toon = healer/dps) seems a lot easier than the continual root, nuke, stun, re-root, nuke, stun sequence of the warlock.

Your "naked" INT should be based on 3 things (that I can think of).

1) Race - Each race has a starting INT between 10 (troll) and 30 (erudite)

2) Class - You get bonus stats when you choose your class and subclass

3) Traits - You can choose +INT traits at levels 8, 28 and 48 and several races get +int racial trait options
