Summoned Pets
- Fighter pets (Tellurians and Adherents) now generate less hate, have lower health pools, and do a bit less damage.
- Scout pets (Shadows and Aeries) now have a reduced DPS bonus and lower health pools.
- Mage pets (Igneii and Grims) now have lower health pools.
- Dumbfire and swarm pets have lower health pools and no longer possess an innate ability to generate hate.

A very depressing notes, I am seriously considering mothballing my necromancer now, considering reports earlier today were showing our pets were already fairly nerfed yesterday and now they pretty much did them in. Will test the changes but seriously doubt I have the heart to do it.

Laryagar

Whats not listed on the notes is that they also:

Increased the damage of creature mastery spells, from what I remember the max is now 987 dmg.

I noticed that max damage for master 2 lifetap was 476 but this could be because of my lower than Fabled intelligence and also that they took out the 41 points of health cost and made it straight power cost of 110. <----- Too [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] hefty.

Also pets still suck at tanking as of 9/7/05.

To summ it up all this combat rebalance has brought us is not a [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] thing but:

Nerfing our power regen.

Taking away our fluff spells.

And reducing our pets effectiveness even more.

Oh and made all of our heals require health in order to use which is fine 50+ when you have Lich but for those 49 and below its a real kick in the groin considering that our taps are very mana inefficient and our heals have a crappy conversion rate. So at the end of a fight you will be low on health and power while fighting arrow down even cons in order to keep the pet up.

At first this combat rebalance was looking real good at first but more and more its turning out terrible.

I can understand the dev's wanting to change some things about certain professions that can easily solo heroics but gimping everyone in the process is definately not the smartest route...

The proper fix would have been too give Heroic con mobs epic flags when it came to movement debuffs and then beefed up their HP/Power/Mitigation and damage in order for a group to be needed to take them down.

Message Edited by borwin on 09-08-2005 09:08 PM
Is there any info already available about the clinging darkness line, that is also added with this patch? For instance I'd like to know the duration, the casting time, the snare in percent and if different versions of the line stack together.

As of right now the snare line is broken but the spell description says it lasts for 48 seconds, snares for 40% and does a small dot.

Also take into account that NPC's are hitting harder and and our spells are getting resisted alot more. At first I was excited about the way necros were heading, but now it seems like we are extremely gimped. As it stands on test you are forced to group up to even have a chance at getting xp and loot. Necros already have a hard time getting groups. The way it looks right now if these new changes go live you will see groups comprising of 1 tank, 4 healers, and 1 tier 1 dps'er. That is if people stick around that long.

[expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] right, 99% of every player I talk to hasn't the foggiest clue of these impending nightmares to come. More than half of them do not believe it at all, they will either cope and most likely play less, leave completely or reroll, and the fanboi's can have it all. Necro 38 Mystic 32
