Ogre for a Necro?

I understand that Intel. is the most important stat for a mage type character...however, it appears from what I've read that power is not much of an issue for a necro. So perhaps of all the "Mage" classes, a Necro would be the most "friendly" to a low Int. Ogre. Is my logic fatally flawed here or? Just wondering if an Ogre would be viable. They do have +Int and +Defense as racial traits. Next choice would be a Barbarian or Human.... Just play what you want to play <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Buffs and INT items will play a much larger role in your overall INT than what you start with. Even with the new revamp it will make little or no difference.

<P>All classes are viable options.</P> <P> </P> <P>Heck even with exactly the same gear in the end, you would have a few points in INT less then some guy with an elf. </P> <P>At lvl 50/60 those few points in INT will not matter that much. BUT in the low lvls, you will have a teeny little more HP as an Ogre compared to a dark elf <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />).  </P> <P>That should prove usefull as well <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P> <P> </P>

<P>I have a 29 Ogre Necromancer on Mistmoore, and I'm very pleased with her.   Her intelligence is currently 132 with self-buffs, and I never have problems with power during normal solo/duo/small group activity.   Fizzles are minimal, and damage seems on par with the "smarter" Necroes that I've encountered. </P> <P>If you like the look of the Ogres in robes, then by all means, DO IT. </P> <P>Salsa Picante, 29 Ogre Necro, Mistmoore. </P>
