<DIV>I seek your wisdom and guidance!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am currently a lowbie (23) necro.  I took the hero training pet at 20 like many people.  It was quickly obvious that the hero was far superior to the warlock not due to the damage output (which was pretty darn good but it was the hero afterall) but in the ablity to survive my taps.  I pretty much always group so lets forget solo for the sake of discussion.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I found that a combination of my pet and my spells takes a mob down the fastest and with taps I almost never run out of power.  </DIV> <DIV>The warlock pet was livable in terms of damage but i had to recast it all the time since it ran out of health.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I know some of you use the warlock pets.  How are you managing?  Are you not using taps?  Is there a situation where the warlock is a better choice where maybe I would cast less and leave more up to the pet?  Is the purpose of the warlocks (currently) just to fill in the gaps between tanks?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>PS I know the combat revamp will change things but until its here I plan to keep playing :p</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Well, I'm right now a lvl 23 Necro as well, and I never got the Fallen Hero training spell.  I also group most of the time, and the warlock works just fine.  I rarely have to use taps because, lets face it, at lvl 23 Necros don't have too many damage output spells that eat up alot of power.  Whenever I run out of power during or after a battle i use taps on the warlock, just keep the "agitation" spell upgraded and keep it refreshed on your warlock, it helps recover his health much quicker and therefore he will not die from taps.
