I have been away from the game for about 7 months but now I am back. I cannot remember if races have innate abilities that make them better for a certain class. I was planning to making a halfing necro having had a necro in EQ1 and loved every minute (yes I know they are not tha same in EQ2). In EQ1 though the halfings were higher in Wis and thus made better druids and clerics. Does it matter If I want to go towards Int with one? Sorry if this had been covered elsewhere, but I want to get back into the community again and this seemed as valid a question as any. Thanks for the help! <div></div>

Obviously some races have certain advantages in the beginning, but that does not mean that you cannot play a class or be effective because of this . Each players abilities mainly rely on their gear, this is where most of your stats will come from. There may be some issues at a very young age with mana, but that is only a problem until your teens when you get pet taps for mana. We are one of the best mana control classes in the game, and at higher levels you do truely have to try to burn mana. INT also gives us more damage from our nukes and dots, but like I said its the gear and self buffs we get that makes a difference, and you should have no problems finding INT stuff. Although uncommon, I think that will be even funner, and Hafling Necro is not often seen (never to these undead eyes). The betrayl will be challenging, but it is for everyone. The pay off should be everything you desire. If you play on Guk, send me tell, once you complete the betrayl, and I'll mail ya some coin to help with the gear (its not much seeings as I dropped the mother load on a horse but every lil bit helps <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> ), my name is Ezazal, and I got a thing for the dead. <div></div>

One of the features I am most impressed with in eq2 over eq1 is that any race can be any class. For the most part, I have not seen much distinction between the races when it comes to class selection. <toot's own horn> I play the only active Necromantic Dwarf on my server. I have compared my stats to other Necros or mage types and have not seen any drastic difference in int or power. Only time I have seen big diffences is when I compare to a uber guild member or to some alt of a broke player. Even with that said, Necros need to worry little about conserving power/mana, at this point. The little inate abilities you are able to choose from along the way may help a bit, but from what I've seen dont define a race to overpower a class. I hope you choose a race and class you want, and I hope you enjoy it. Plus it's fun being one of the few of a unusual race/class combo. =) <div></div>
