<DIV>I am still a summoner, and debating whether i should go and do the betrayal quest so I could become a necromancer. I hear that conjuror's are much better solo'ers than necro's but I really dont care about that. I'm an enthusiast. I am just looking for which ever class may be fun. I have seen the cool pictures of the necro's and their pets in the stickies and have yet to see much of any pictures of the conjurors. The reason I am posting here on the necro forum is because I am really more interested to see if necromancers are fun, moreso than conjurors. Now I know posting on the necromancer will most likely get me biased opinions, but I think thats what I'm sort of looking for. Thanks in advance!</DIV>

<DIV>I wouldn't trade my necro for anything. I love it, and it should be even better after the next big update. You'll probably be comming into a necro at a VERY good time. It was no bed of roses for most of us until level 30ish. It took about that long to finally "feel" like a real necro, but from the spell revamp in the update, it should be a much better transition. As far as fun factor, we are "uncommon". Don't see too many necro's past level 30's because it can get tricky. Plus there are a LOT of things to pay attention to, but thats what I like about necros (never a dull moment). There's not only aggro, your life, and power, but also your's pets life and power. Keep's things very intense and fast paced. Ironically, I've heard that Conj's are more group friendly, but now with the soon update, it is a different ball park.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Good luck in your decision!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

yeah, i can't imagine having more fun than with my necro and it is only getting better with the revamp. our desirability is gonna be upped a nice bit with more DPS, lower cast on stun, and our heal and we will also stay very useful on raids with our shards giving healers the mana they need especially with all of the regen nerfs(this should also let us get more of an advantage in long raids than it does now because now almost all classes can keep up mana through long fights as it is). overall i would have to say very fun to play necro now and gonna get alot better especially for the lower levels when we kinda sucked. <div></div>

<DIV>Started with a Shadowknight... got to 29 and got bored...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>next came assassin... got to 27 and got bored... in the process looted tellurian crawler adept...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>started Necro, and loving every minute of it. 37 now and still going strong. My static group of guildies is still amazed at how much damage i do in long fights... heh</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just play the one you feel more with... the goody conjuror or the evil badass master of undead Necromancer</DIV>

I can honestly say that the difference between necro/conj currently is minimal. I have levelled to 50 alongside a conjurer friend of mine and I would feel totally comfortable taking the helm of his character and playing without much issue. Most of our abilities are mirrored with an equivalent. From a having fun factor I prefer my necro purely from an evil/undead stance. That is all. Go with what you prefer in that respect because gamewise there is not significant enough a difference to impact fun. Will be interesting to see how things change post revamp though. <div></div>
Im one of those weird people who couldnt care less about DPS and stuff, I know that I from that statement put an "Idiot" stamp in my forehead.. :smileytongue: BUT when it comes to having fun, i love playing my Necro, the "Fun factor" is definately there, Im just in my mid 20's, havent run into the "wall" people talk abou, i run around in Nek and killing off stuff, Xp is comming in quite fast. You have to love our eversmiling Grim, the lighlty scarred and somewhat sloppy stiched togheter hero. The picture of our Nylph's boneform doing the /flex is definately worth the fight towards mastery. But hey, thats just me.. Add to that the rats and those lovly looking hounds, you cant really go wrong with a necro, I myself enjoy every death i get, Or as we say in the Necro business "Death is just the beginning of a better life" :smileytongue:

Well...then DEFINITELY go necro! There was someone else above me that said he unlocked his froglok specifically for necro, well...necro is my personal RPG-type and I had been scrounging all my money/rares and buying master spells, armor and accessories for my necro since launch...waiting and looking for the day that I could finally make my froglok necro. My alt from the begining took me 30 days of played time to get to lvl 36 and it was pretty forced. Once I finally made my froglok necro however...13 days played time and I was lvl 40 without really trying: it has just been FUN. I've now played an alchy and necro past 40, played a chanter, wizzy, brigand past 30 and a ranger, SK, mystic past 20. Of them all, necro has by far been the most fun (brigand is 2nd if ya wanna know) and the most versatile in groups/duos/solo/instances. Sure, there might be people who love conjs just as much or had as much fun...but I don't know them...and besides..you asked for a biased opinion lol</span><div></div>

As for the 'fat zombie' it is a specialized pet choice line level 20 and guess what, it's gone. All our specialized pet lines are also gone, the dogs (specialized rat line level 30), the green skele mage etc. etc. for me it's game over come sept. 13th and like with the many mystics I've been talking to, all who play nec as main (and aren't level 50) ARE going to leave. Just because the majority of folks who play and have only been given a heads up about this mess (from folks like me, who have noticed the mass amount who have no clue what is about to happen) don't post day and night, doesn't mean we do not exist. Very few (non-fanboi's and those who won't reroll) will put up with these changes and my only 'fun' left will be if sony pays for it dearly. Yes I am furious and I just HOPE it doesn't have to come down to this when all our nerfs hit. (/end anger)</span><div></div>

All of our training options have been re-worked back into the necro class at higher lvls (won't get em at lvl 20, but you can still get them, snare, dogs, and the 'fat zombie'). The class has a much more hands-on feel now, but it's still very fun =) I just tested soloing at lvl 45 in beta and on live just to make sure...I can actually solo against white mobs a little faster and with less damage taken (pet did better unassisted as well). Also, we now have some more cool spells =) Namely, an undead charm, lifetaps for all lvls, life transfers, and more DPS overall.</span><div></div>

<DIV>This class has to be the most challenging to play. Our spells do weak dammage and our armor is a bit of a joke. Bathrobes don't stop spears so well. Our spells are just wierd. The spells are so different and do so many different things. It's as though they took a little from each caster type, made the spell weaker and then gave it to us. We can heal our pets a little, root (Sometimes) and deal some weak magic dammage. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>That just means we have to think harder to win, and that is what sets us apart. You don't find bad necromancers in the higher levels, either you are a wiley [Removed for Content] and you know your craft or you will give up in frusteration. Our spells may not be high DPS, but by combining them and using each little part, we become a very efficient class. The other caster classes are just button pressers that deal DPS against whatever their tank needs them to hit. Necromancers direct their own tanks, heal their tanks, deal spells that will keep the attack off of the necromancer and always keep one eye on the exit.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you like a mental challenge, this is the best class. </DIV>

We did get nerfed with the snares on the last day of beta =/ They now break with damage lol so no more snare kiting...but on live now I can still solo pretty easy yellow/orange ^ mobs in sinking sands, so it doesn't bother me too much. <div></div>
