Question about DPS

<DIV>ok I hit lvl 40 yesterday and for last week or less I have been using a stat parser to see how effective I am being.  I notice I tend to be very "pet heavy" in my fights and realize it can hurt my overaall average DPS.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My question is what is typical DPS for our class? Pet should be maybe 1/4 to 1/2 of your dps. I know you get a new big nuke at 45 ( Siphon Life ) which will help your personal dps a ton.

I have parsed myself at 50 against level 36^^ mobs in EL, going all out.  There, I was averaging around 150-180 DPS and my pet was averaging around 80-120 DPS.  That was stacking a lot of DoTs, using Siphon Life, rats, etc.  Now, while soloing 48^^ golems in Permafrost, I cut down on the casting quite a lot so as to avoid aggro.  There, my DPS was only around 75-100 while my pet remained around 80-120 still.  Again, stacking DoTs are going to do much more for you than just spamming nukes IMO.  You will do more upfront damage with nukes, which is fine for soloing, but in groups, make sure to stack your DoTs.
