View Full Version : Horrific Mark and Lich after revamp

Looking on screenshots of "updated" spells - i have 2 questions. Horrific Mark line. Claims that <i>"Drains the target's stamina and wisdom, adding it to the necromancer's benefit"</i>. I'd agree that adding STA is important, but WIS... How often do we tank? How often do we get hit by spell? I'd say almost never. So, what the point to have more wis if we not getting hit by spells? Maybe it would be wiser to add INT to necromancer's benefit instead of WIS? At least it would make some sence. Lich. "New" description says that <i>"All of the lich's disease based hostile spells siphon additional health from the target and adding the health to the lich".</i> Cool. Nice. Basically, it adds extra damage and extra heal to every our DoT/nuke. And especially now - when we will have to spend TONS of hitpoints - pet heal now drains HP, new "direct heal" now takes our HP, Lich drains HP, "manastones" takes HP to cast - so we need to replace health a lot. And with this extra heal from Lich proc it would be OK. BUT. As I understand - it doesnt work at all ATM. Lich works at it was used to work on currient Live servers - no extra DD, no extra Heal. I hope its a bug and will be fixed. <div></div>

<DIV>But taking Wis from the target mob will help you land your spells. so it will help some.</DIV>

I think when I respec, STA/health is going to be more important to me than int/power. Power seems like it will still be pretty easy for us to come by and our best spells will all be pets in which case having a higher INT won't matter (at least for our main pets). So the most important stat may become STA.</span><div></div>

Of course it will help for nukers. But adding WIS to necro? What spell does: -37wis/sta from mob, +37wis/sta to necro. Dont you think that adding INT to necro instead of WIS would make more sence?</span><div></div>

More wisdom could help in lessening AoE damage, if I'm understanding the nature of this stat in relation to intelligence under the new combat rules.

<DIV>Int will be the best stat to raise in the combat revamp. If you have 150 INT and inspect a spell like Accursed Cloud, you may see 600 damage. Bump that up to 250 and you may see 800.</DIV>

<p>Reviving a really old post because it nearly explains what I want to know - but it is so old I wondered about how accurate it is.</p><p> As far as I understand the spell Horrific Mark debuffs Stamina and Wisdom in a tap manner ie we get the sta and wis added to our stats.</p><p>As I understand it Sta increases total max hp's and wis increases resists.</p><p>So it seems obvious to me that the wisdom decreases the resist for the mob and increases ours, great. (Please correct me if I am wrong).</p><p> It is the Total MAX hp that confuses me. Do I have to debuff before the encounter starts ie pull with it or is it like damage ??</p><p>And when the increase in Sta hits me is that like a heal or mean I can tap more ??</p><p>I have noticed the essence of Anguish and the fact that this seems a mighty fine part of Tainted Heals - was considering the Master 1 option as it seems reasonably priced on the brokers on my server.</p><p>So question 2 </p><p> Thanks to you gurus out there if you can shed any light on this.</p>

dude if you have a question post one, bringing up a post over 2 years old is just stupid
Draining WIS from the mob lowers the mob's resistance to spells. Adding WIS to you increases your resistance to spells (especially those nasty AOE's). So, yes, its handy.Power is rarely an issue for a necromancer. The Lich line and a Darkness Hearts line are more than enough power regen for us. STA gear is handy for more health because the more health you have the harder Lifeburn hits! For T8 the mastercrafted Pristine Tranquil Swiftcloth cloth armor has +40 INT and +35 STA on each piece as well as +3 disruption, +412 to all resists, and +45 spell damage. That will do very well until you can find better.

<p>firstly let me get this off my chest -</p><p>Dude if you have an answer post it - if not shut up. You are probably the same sort of person who would call me stupid for not searching properly !!!</p><p>Secondly - Thanks for the sensible reply Mewse is most helpful.</p><p>Still trying to work out what the Sta debuff actually does to the mob ?? Yep on this thread too.</p>

<p>I have been using LICH since the revamp, whichi was supposed to add heals to my Lich. However, all I see is that it drains my Hp and doesn't heal me at all. Is this spell working as it is supposed to work?</p><p>Mortel, Level 57 Necro</p><p>Permafrost Server</p><p>House of Rising Phoenix Guild</p>

You will then be healed for approximately half of that damage. Watch for the green numbers above your head when you cast a spell.

the lich spell is working as intended. I always see the nice green figures above me head when I cast disease based spells, unless of course my HP is already full.

I have no problems answering questions if they're posted, but [Removed for Content] man make a new thread.

If you get resisted alot or don't cast fast then you won't see it heal you at all. All other incomming heals are from an item proc, lifetap, our own heal spell/ aa heal or group member with healing abilities.

<p>Sabutai</p><p>Question: What does Stamina debuff part of horrific mark do to a Mob ?? Should it be cast pre-encounter for full benefit ?</p><p> Please grant me the grace of your wisdom and answer this for me.</p><p> I would also be grateful if you could explain why asking what part of a current spell does is not part of current game mechanics ?</p><p>OR</p><p> Why attaching it to a thread about that spell is STUPID ?</p><p> If you cannot answer this for me - I would ask you leave it alone and let someone who can. I thank you so much for all of your help so far, been very constructive.</p><p>PS Please try and control your vocabulary because when I try to imagine what it is I am sure I am doing you a mis-service and I am imagining you are actually a lot worse than you really are. Thanks</p>
STA debuff on the mob lowers its overall health. Less health means it dies faster.

<p>If a mob has 40% max health..it will stay at 40% max health after the debuff, but it will be 40% of a lowered max.</p><p>The opposite works the same way.</p>

Typically, reviving such an old post from the dead is a very bad thing. The poster that did so seemed to recognize this in a friendly manner that didn't warrant the beating that was dished out. If you feel someone on the forums has done something wrong, use the "Report this post to a moderator" and let the moderation staff deal with it. Attacking/insulting someone via a reply is inappropriate.Based on the age of this thread and the back and forth bickering, however, I am going to go ahead and close this. If the actual game issue is still in question feel free to create a new thread (without the personal attacks).
