Just wondering if necros will be able to find groups easier now? Or if anyone has tried an all pet group with one person using a Tank pet and eveyone else using their damage pets and Dots in a fight? If so how well do normal groups and pet groups work?

Message Edited by Suraklin on 08-07-2005 11:33 AM

Pet groups would be especially lethal if our health tranfers can be made from one necro to anothers pet.

With a necro team on normal ^^ mobs with dot stacking, improved tank pet aggro, and increased caster pet damage (maybe even all necros using scout pets)..... mmmmmm, six hot knifes through butter.

Just want to confirm, DoT stacking works just fine on Test server. Let the All Pet groups commence!

Pet groups would be very intense I think. With the new necro heal we can heal about 450 hps every 8 seconds. 5 necros healing = a pet that never dies.

Pet groups were a bane in eqoa (the eq mmo on ps2) raiding because they allowed dot stacking and all the good stuff.

Now with all the changes comming expect pet groups to roam the lands on some servers ripping apart stuff. Wait till some bored people field 2 full groups of pet classes and take out epic mobs. I know eqoa is a different game but alot of the mechanics will be the exact same come the revamp.

Id love to see all the conj/necros on test try this out to see how it would go here. Im guessing it would be just as insane here as eqoa.

Ya right... Epic mobs will kill any pet in 1-2 hits.

but you can get a new one in 10 seconds so for 12 people that is a new pet summoned more than one every second if needed so if you can keep from getting aggro from the fresh casted pets it might work but prolly couldn't cast other than the summons cause the new pets wouldn't have time to build up aggro over you. would like to try it but man it would be hard getting together 12 summoners but would be loads of fun to try it out some time.

Message Edited by quamdar on 08-08-2005 02:13 AM

People that have never seen pet groups raid in eqoa just dont understand what could happen here now that dots and spells stack on mobs.

12 normal pets plus 24 swarm spells going.

I doubt its gonna happen here since there is a major lack of pet class players it seems at the endgame range but it could. it doesnt matter if a epic mob will kill a pet in a few hits when there is so many of them out. it wouldnt be hard to micro manage pets to time it all right.

who needs an ALL pet group? Have a player tank as the meatshield and all others summoners. Just make sure the tank is one of the necros' zerker alts lol

Eq1 pet groups were ok but the pet groups in eqoa were 10x more insane.

And since eq2 mechanics come revamp is more like eqoa then eq1 i compared it to eqoa.

You can't compare em like that because when the pet dies, all the agro goes to you and the mob comes chasing after you. Therefore, you would never be able to chain pets at a mob until it dies.

Was the same way in eqoa and it never stopped people from petting mobs that would eat any the current raid stuff here for lunch.

the mob won't come right after you when pet dies, it only does that if noone else touches it it would got tho the pet that has done the next most damage after it dies then so on and so on. just have to make sure to not cast spells that are going to get you aggro and if one person does get aggro...in combat rezz them

I know not many people have high level necros in the end game cause most people considered them pretty gimped and didn't bother playing one. Just wondering how powerful 6 summoners in a group is after combat changes. My necro is only 37 atm but he's not on test.
