<DIV>Is Swarm of Bats worth buying in Adept 3 if I found a Sage who can make it for me? If it's not that great I don't wanna waste an Opal for the spell.</DIV>

<P>let me think on this ....</P> <P>um yes even at 50 i use this spell very often as to many others im sure the fast cast time and decent dmg on it makes it a nice spell to upgrade thats for sure</P>

No...don't bother with adept 3...it's a very minimal upgrade from app4 (like 1%). If I could I would go back and get something else at adept 3. It's a great spell to use, just very little change with the upgrade (maybe wait till the revamp.....) <div></div>

<DIV>I have APP4 and it works great for its purpose.. quick timer and average damage.... I usually use it before I send in a big strike spell.</DIV>

It's likely most cast spell, due to the short cast time and short recast. I upgraded to Adept III at the first opportunity I had because I use it so much.</span><div></div>

I never buy opals/rubies/whatever bizarro metal so the upgrades are usually less than 10 gp plus time to dig up the rock. I agree, I wouldn't pay plat for any adept III, let alone swarm of bats. <div></div>

Here's what I said in the FAQ: <div>T4 (Level 30 to 39) Tricky level range since you've got carryover into the current final tier.</div> <div>1. Rotting Thrall (single most important spell we have)</div> <div>2. Plague of Rats (huge damage spell, well worth the rare)</div> <div>3. Words of the wicked (great pet buff, worth the upgrade)</div> <div>4. Ghastly stench</div> <div>Special notes: Many would recommend swarm of bats, I do not. The upgrade from apprentice 4 to adept 3 is about 6% damage increase, on that spell the increase translates to about 25 more damage every 24 seconds, not worth the rare. The FAQ post is my current opinion, that old post was going off of conjecture... once I'd actually seen the adept 3 I changed my tune real fast. </div> <div></div>

I'm considering it purely to wipe the smugness of a conjurer mate of mine when he wipes my SoBs away with his Adept III version. Although I guess that won't be an issue soon. hehe <div></div>

<DIV>Ok, now I would DEFINATELY not recommend upgrading this spell. Looking at the screenshots of the new combat revamp spells it looks like it isnt going to have spell levels (app, ad, m) but scale with you as you level like Word of Force and Magi Shielding.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
