Well, I looked on first 4 pages to see if I saw this and I didnt. Anyhow, I am looking at redoing the way I solo. I am having a hell of a hard time defeating lvl 45^^, I am level 48. This same mob that I can not beat at lvl 48 a conjuror came up and beat pretty easy. I am not overlooking the fact that I may just be soloing wrong. I try to cast HoT, then Heal then Debuff. After that I stun and repeat except throw in a nuke instead of debuff. Any suggestions? Also please if you are able to defeat these mobs using a different technique please share what you do and include your spell level ( such as Adept 3 or what). Thanks a ton for anyadvice you may have.

Forget kiting.

Ward pet, sick pet on target, cast rats, and keep stun/ward cast. It should never be available and not being cast. When the pet gets below 70% health, cast HoT. Also though 1-2 dots in as needed but be slow about it.

Also - I'm lower in level - but I have a ton of success pullin Mobs 4-5 levels higher by casting Cloak of V. on my pet, warding him, sending him in and he keeps aggro pretty well.

I dont cast any debuffs until he as at least 80% low on HP and then cautiously debuff, DoT, Heal, Stun etc......I always make sure I have stun up just in case to keep him off me if agrro gained.

Kiting is really the way to go (until revamp anyways), pull any ^^ mobs in EF with snare doll, then stack telaminas and ravenous on the mob, sick pet and rats and unload everything you can until snares are available again, i was killing lvl 50^^ tundra terrors in less than 3 minutes each at lvl 47, with vit it was like 3% exp per kill

Skelly - 50 Necro

Grobb

same as skelly - i did most of 48 and all of 49 kiting the tundra terrors, mammoths and heroic storms in everfrost around where tundra jack and iceberg are. Did 50% of 49 in one sunday afternoon to ding 50, so the xp is pretty good - 0.5 to 0.6% xp per mob with no vitality. As previously mentioned, it takes about 3 mins to kill one, so whether the xp is actually better than having the pet tear through the spider tunnel killing all in its path, I dont know - but the kiting was a lot more fun, you do need to keep on your toes as the snares dont last long (recommend profit UI here for its timers on spells). pull with the 40 training snare then immediately cast telasima's - then start to move while putting on the hex doll - i use mark to help keep aggro, rats and whatever else i can get on - works well. Even if the 40 snare resists, you will have time to get telasimas cast (nice and fast cast and refresh). If both resist, again, you can get the hex doll on while running. I do hope they give us snares back as this method is a lot more fun than just standing there casting dots/nukes hoping your pet can keep aggro while you kill the mob. its also pretty efficient, i could chain pull the mobs, only stopping to clear any aggro solo mobs that wandered nearby. also, if a solo aggro mob wandered along while you kited, just peel off the pet to kill it while you carry on.

Message Edited by Tinantier on 08-29-2005 11:55 PM
lvl 50 necro I basically solo'ed all the way to lvl 50 i have a nice safe way to kill thoses ^^ mobs I don't use snare nor do i kite i dont like being dependent on some stupid doll (btw if you like to kite get imbued wand works like a bow, can cast as you run saves you time and power as you kite) buff pet pre dot heal your pet send him in let him fight it out just heal and debuff the mob your fighting dont nuke lol dont dot dont do anything that will steal arrgo , i would suggest you use stun when ya can to make your pet last long once your pets hp is around 30% and he isnt taking spike hits, back him off root the mob...(also works if pet dies) your root nearly almost always holds heal your pet up to full get your power off the pet keep the mob rooted recast before it's time is up (loves his root spell, drooled at the upgrade timer on the root) you get yourself back to full power you even have time to recast a pet for power regen send him back in finish off the mob all your pets hate he creatives should still be there at this point you can nuke and dot and use those rats of yours should be safe now this might take longer but it's way safer, some places you dont have room to kite you run the risk of getitng adds and arrgo from other mobs. this method works best in places like Sol eye where you have no room to fight and adds can be like 3 feet from arrgo range

I have tried several different alternatives to soloing ^^ blue solo heroic mobs and have come to the conclusion that I can't keep my pet alive even if I ward/stun because wards take a 16 second recast and stun takes 45 second recast which basically by that time the mob already has beaten the hell out of your pet, and as for rooting the mob its a good idea but when the mob gets hit they can break the root and the recast is not fast too its 9 seconds if you withdraw you' re pet at 30% that 9 seconds the mob could dish out over 4k in damage, I dont know what zone you guys solo using the pet to tank but in everfrost a tundra terror can hit as much as 2k with his special attack so using the pet to tank that isnt a good idea, even some green mobs in EF the pet cant hold out because we necro' s just dont get the heal unlike conjurors do, I' ve never used the pet to tank a heroic ^^ solo mob because I always kite its the safest way to kill ^^ just run around and let the pet beat them out even though I only use Raveus and Hex doll I have a 5 second lead on mob to keep 3 dots all the time takes maybe 4 to 5 mins per kill but well worth the time compared to the solo.

Well, I upgraded all my spells. I now have atleast all Adept 3's. That made a huge difference, as I can now solo most lvl 46-47 heroic mobs and some lvl 48 heroics. My problem seemed to be in the spells I was using, just adept 1 at the time.
