<DIV> <DIV>I haven't posted here before, but i've been playing for about 7 months now.... i know this has been complained about before, (saw similar posts) but i just wanted to add my voice.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>A few weeks ago, i was fortunate to find a Grim Terror (Master 1) spell on the broker, that was in my price range of what i was willing to spend.... It pained me every day to see that in my inventory and not be able to use it.... it was to be the Ultimate pet, until others were added in the expansion....</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Sigh... 'was' being the operative word. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So last night, i finally got my level 48.6 required to scribe the spell, and i did so eagerly. i pull the new pet out, and am pleased with the apearance of my new eye candy. Send her into battle, and she charges. And... well... i couldn't really put my finger on it, but something didn't seem right with her....</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I asked a friend, (guardian level 43) to come with me to test out what was up with this new supposedly "uber" pet.</DIV> <DIV>So, we went to the magma wormlings out near the enterance to Lavastorm, and proceded to test the functionality of the Grim Temptress.... and seriously... i can't remember being so depressed playing this game.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>the first thing blatently wrong with this pet.... is that it does absolute crap for damage. i don't have the numbers handy, but the pet seems to have 2 attacks, one does roughly 48 damage, the second 120-130 damage. these tick off roughly every 4-5 seconds. On top of that, it had about 50% health left when if finally killed the mob that was 6 levels below it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> I compared this to my tank pet, the Rotting Thrall, at a measly Adept 1 quality, it also had a couple of attacks, that ranged from high 80s, to over 250 damage, with the same time frame of attacks, and had about 95% health when it was over.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>One of the things i liked about the Trall was its ability to hold agro. A few days ago, I was with a group in Solusek's Eye, our tank had to leave, we wanted to see how far we could press on. Turns out, the [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] thing is a pretty impressive tank. It held agro against the level 48-50 double up fire giants, with myself, a level 45 conjurer, a couple of level 47 healers, and a 46 Ranger. I'd never been more proud of the ugly POS. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I was desparate to find something beneficial to this new pet, so i tested out agro holding abilities of the Temptress... after several hits of hate built up, my guardian friend got agro from the mob in 2 taunts... sigh. so, useless there too, compared to the thrall that half the time, she could not taunt the mob's agro at all.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It is totally unacceptable that my level 38 Adept 1 pet, can out damage, out tank, hold agro better, AND completely outclass a Master 1, level 48 pet. Hell i wouldn't even be annoyed if it had respectible damage, but couldn't tank. Its a warlock afterall. Don't remember ever seeing a warlock, that could take abuse as well as it gives.... at least it would be usefull in a group at that point.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Right now, the pet is completely useless, in any situation, other than impressing lower levels in grey areas. and that can only hold my interest for so long.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Perhaps someone here could shed some light on when, (if ever) our pets are going to get some love? it would be appreciated.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks for letting me Rant</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Sarrik Vakar</DIV> <DIV>48 RP Necro</DIV> <DIV>Antonia Bayle</DIV></DIV>
