Aggro and root

<DIV>Sometimes when you are happily killing something and get jumped by 1 or 2 other mobs pet aggro isn't always enough so you root one. After you have killed the one you were killing and handled the 2nd its time to kill the rootet one. Here I find it more or less impossible for pet to gain aggro and tank this sob, and often its running around trying to stun and root some more and hope for the best. Am lv 36 and don't have the lv 10 snare and have not really kited too much with only hex doll. So what is the best action to get pet on top of the mobs hate list?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Oh, and one more thing. Why isn't grasping bones as fast as the lower lv stun, it feels like ages when I cast it and the chance for getting interrupted is big.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Oxi.</DIV>

First, Grasping Bones is in a completely different spell line than Petrify (that's why they're on separate timers).  Grasping Bones has a component that increases your pet's DPS by 10% also, so it's primary use isn't that of an emergency stun when you're getting beat on.  Granted, it can be used as that, you just have to get past the long cast time. The best "trick" right now to get a mob to aggro on your pet after you've rooted it is to cast Boon of the Lifeless or Words of the Wicked.  It's probably a bug, but the "Increase Hate Gain of Target by 15%" component of the spell gives instant hate to your pet causing the mobs to go after them.  It's good for losing root-aggro and also for getting all mobs in a group to immediately go after your pet.  Try spamming either spell a few times while in combat with multiple mobs and you'll see what I mean. for me if there is a linked situation....say 2 mobs... i have the pet set to guard me and i'm warded.. and the pet has all buffs.. i start with rooting one.. the one that comes at me after one hit the pet is on him.. after a little bit i stun the one the pet is on... then reroot the one i rooted to begin with..keeping it rooted till me and the pet kill the maim one.. after that i put the pet on the one rooted and stun it... he usually grabs agro pretty soon and then just dot and wait......i'm lvl 38 right now.... so if there are 3 linked i root one..put the pet on one.. and fear the other.... drop a dot to help the pet... then root the one i feard as it comes back at me... keeping them rooted till my pet and dots can take them down one by one..... in feerrott that how i do the linked lizards... just has been my stragety ...looa is my ingame name..take care and good hunting to ya
