Anyone have any good Split Paw info. links? I am just now getting into it after writ grinding for lvl 20 (yay). I heard there are 12 solo instances but I can only find 2 in Splitpaw Den. Is the Arena a instance for solo adventure of it is for PvP? Any links or information would be greatly appreciated. I did do a search but not finding the things I am looking for.

Grats on 20! (guild lvl I presume hehe)

Here is a link to the main quest in the adventure pack: A darkened shard.

http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/quests/ADarkenedShard.php

This will lead you through the Delving into the Darkness instance and The Upper Tunnels instance which lead you to the gnoll village - Splitpaw Den (Lower Tunnels). From here there are several solo, group, and raid instances you can go for. After completing a few of them (I did the Hideout one, Harclave, and the solo Arena) your get an item that allows you to gate to the Splitpaw Den every 60 min.

The Arenas are either solo or heroic (can still go into and try that one solo if you want - I did and killed the first even con ^^ mob and only got 0.2%xp, so I left) You are in a small fighting pit and you talk to an NPC and he will send out mobs for you to fight. You have as much time in between fights as you want and can quit anytime. The Pit Champion is the final fight (#10 or so) and is pretty tough, but all the rest are pretty easy.

I've done the solo arena at all 3 difficulties now, and the reward for each is exactly the same - a bracelet, status lowering furniture (only 11) and a spell - summon pet shroom.

Hope this helps a little bit,

Cool thanks for the info. I did to the Hideout quest, that was kinda fun and different sneaking around invis. moving barrels and blowing stuff up! CAn you just do the same quest over and over? I noticed you can go right back and get the Hideout quest again (think that is the Prank quest).

Do you have to kill the pit boss to finish quest or how is that won exactly?

Are any of these zones worth soloing for exp. or not really..?

I did the Harclave (very fun btw), Arena(both solo, and group one), and Companion quest.(think thats wat its called)Did those 3 instance quest and got shard (return to splitpaw den) and was able to purchase Word of Force from merchant.

Harclave(solo) was prolly the best one out of those 3. God mode indeed.Companion(w/ 1 other group member) was a joke. You gotta be grouped up with someone, and you run around this zone till you meet up with ur partner. Did this easily w/ invis.

Arena(solo) was tough, but i finished it on the first try.Tried to do it again, failed twice. Then after the patch, where they suppose to fix the pit champion. He was killed easily.I like the arena as well, makes it trival before they "retrained" the champ.I basically sent the pet in, and it never lost aggro.Healed him a couple times, send in the rats, and the champ eventually died....Pet was at 10% health, and never once the champ came at me. This was after they "retrained " champ.

I enjoyed the splitpaw adventure pak, and i can't wait till our guild trys out the raid instance in there...

Kikkomon

So you just belly up to the bar and have it out with some lvl 58 Heroic mob then while your pet chews at it's ankle?

Yeah pretty much though I found that the buff roots them and stuns them so i just back off and nuke em. Other thing i do is just start launching every encounter based dot I have and let them chew away at the encounter. Just take on max 2 encounters at a time

Yeah, the pet isn't effected...What i usually do is, have pet defend me while i take out the first group of mobs...by the time i finish killing the group..Ill let my pet have a rest, (deserves a rest )while i take on another group...lolz...Its a blast, and you get tons of adept 1 drops...And there is always a chance for a master chest to drop. That in itself, is worth trying this place out. Solo'ing and get a master chest? i can only imagine....Yesterday i prolly got like 4-5 adept 1 chest drops..and a ton of advance tradeskilling recipes. None i can use, but its worth at least 2g+ each to NPC.

Back to HARCLAVE!!!!

Hey great info.! Thanks so much for bringing me up to speed! I can't wait to give it a try and the #1 greatest thing about it is no fighting over mob spawns like in EQlive!

OH one last question if you die to pit champion (or any mob in the arena quest) are you booted out till timer resets or do you pop in the arena to give it another shot?

Well I did Paw this weekend, got my key to gate back when ever I want and did a ton of Harclave quests.. I have to say I am disapointed in it. I thought there was going to be 12 solo instances yet all I could find or get confirmation from anyone is 3 solo instances each with 3 difficulty settings.. This was very disapointing.. Also talk about a lame lewt table for mobs.... I did Harclave on each setting winning every time and saw no more exp on the hardest one than I did on the easy one yet it took alot longer do to all the resists. One would think even if in god mode because of the likely hood of dying increasing you would get a better exp. ratio...

Maybe I am just missing something here in which I would love for you guys to tell me whats up, this expansion seems to be fairly [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot]....

Just my 2 cents...

There are more than 3 zones in splitpaw. You have 3 arenas, solo, group heroic, and raid epic. The drowned caverns has two more zones in it, Fur fetching and hot water. The hideout is another zone. Harclave. Upper tunnels. There is also the broken terraporter group zone where your group gets split up and has to find each other. Then you have the Crawler's Nest zone. So there is more that you are not doing in splitpaw. Plus loot changes depending on your level.

IMO having three of the same zone just three stages of difficulty isn't really three seperate instanced zones. I have beat all three lvls of the solo arena and gotten the same lewt at lvl 47 in each one. Same with Harclave same lewt in all three zones. Hot water or Fur Fetching are not solo zones either they are Heroic zones because it is off of a Heroic zone (Crawler's Nest). I did forget about Upper Paw.

Hideout (yeah ok 3 zones..)

Harclave (yeah ok 3 zones..)

Upper Paw (3 zones?)

Arena (yeah ok 3 zones..)

Even if you say ok, they are saying three of the same zone counts as a solo zone, then that only equals 10 solo zones (I don't remember maybe upper Paw has 3 lvls also). I guess if they are saying that one zone with three difficulty levels counts as three zones then their logic works but if that is the fact that is false advertising then (IMO) and I would not have bought the expansion based on that skewed logic. Do more open up as you gain faction or something?

I have already beaten the heroic quests for the fur,hot water and the ring in the crawlers nest on medium and easy but same lewt dropped.

Message Edited by Viromage on 07-18-2005 08:57 AM

Message Edited by Viromage on 07-18-2005 09:02 AM

Where did you see it had 12 instanced solo zones at? I would be insterested to know simply because all the information I got stated nothign about how many zones and what types were coming out.

On the Splitpaw Saga website here : http://everquest2.station.sony.com/adventures/splitpawsaga/ , under features the first line says:

"Live the story of Sundered Splitpaw in an event based adventure that takes players, level 20 to 50, through 12 different solo, group and raid instances."

So that is 12 new instances total, which are divided into solo, group and raid.

Yeah the english could have been written clearer but it does not state that there are 12 solo only instance zones.

I guess that is my bad then.. I read that as 12 of each.. I was just really looking forward to some good solo content that was fun. The Hideout was fun the first 3 times and same with Harclave but now it feels like writ grinding. OH WELL... Thanks for all the info. anyway, twas much app.

Yeah the text was a bit misleading, and as I mainly solo I would have liked more solo content, but I think I will be ok till the expansion.

I couldnt see grinding in SP though, I did each of the solo instances a couple times and that does it for me. Im kind of intrigued by the tales of master chests dropping in Harclaves, but between what I consider to be poor xp and having to summon a new pet every encounter in there because he goes oop....I can disregard my treasure hunter instincts.

I still have a ton of the regular world to explore (havent even touched LS) and I just joined a guild so I should be busy there too.

I dunno I have touched some of the heroic dungeons and they are kinda cool too. I think it's going to get better now that I have the ability to get back there anytime to meet guildies for groups etc.

HAs anyone actually seen a steel chest drop in Harclave or is it all based on the assumption that they should drop from that level of a mob? I have cleaned Harclave 3 times on medium from top to the bottom pit and never seen one drop and that isn't a good drop rate concidering it takes about 4-5 hours to clear that (well for me atleast). I kinda miss the days of having to split mobs off a group.

Message Edited by Viromage on 07-19-2005 07:41 AM

Viro just like harvest rares it is highly unlikely and totally random that you will receive a master chest. I have seen screenies of 2 master chests in harclave but thats 2 out of how many servers and players? Honestly if Harclave was meant to drop a master chest every time it would, but it's not.
