<DIV>Yeah my pet has no arrow downs at adept 3 and has a new attack called vile breath.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It always opens with this attack and it seems to be a dd with a dot after.  Its like a pink/purple cone that shoots out its mouth.</DIV>

I logged onto test his morning with my 50 necro and took down a level 50 guardian in a duel in about 1 minute.  Sent in my no longer down arrow master RT, feared him, sent the rats and some DoT's, then nuked him a couple times and he was done.  Didn't take a single hit, only used about 20% power.  Ah was a good morning until I had to come to work.

The upgrade applies to NPC summoners also, by the way, so watch out....  especially when they have the master 1 tank pet out <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>

I noticed pretty much <I>all</I> normal pets (non-swarm pets) no longer have down-arrows. Is this an upgrade or purely cosmetic? Can't say for sure, but enjoy it while it lasts <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<BLOCKQUOTE> <P>Found this in the abilities section.</P> <P>Looks like we got a boost !! But what does it mean that tier doesn't upgrade pet ? </P> <P>-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------</P> <P>The cause was found and stacking will revert to the way it worked before the update.</P> <P>And yes, this was a piece of the combat revamp that surfaced before it was intended to. Spells that are part of the same reuse group will no longer stack. That affects things like Guardian health buffs that were not intended to stack, thus creating part of the huge tanking gap that currently exists.</P> <P>Lest you see this upcoming change as only a negative, the code that makes it happen has another purpose as well. The spell guys can make it so a given spell cast by two members of the same class can both stack on the target. For instance, say you have two necros in a group. NecroA casts a DoT on a mob, and NecroB casts the exact same DoT; both land and take effect. If NecroA has a lower-level DoT in the same line, that spell would stack with NecroB's higher-level version.</P> <P>The combat and spell changes aren't just all positives or all negatives, but rather an overall change to balance. Some perceived nerfs will be necessary to make combat more challenging and entertaining overall.</P> <P>Another unintended change that snuck into this update (which we are not reverting) is an upgrade to summoner pets: they no longer spawn with a down arrow, thus both their health and autoattack damage have increased. Warrior pets especially will benefit from this change. The temporary downside is that tier upgrades aren't improving the pets right now, but that should be made up for by the more durable pets. The tier upgrades will start working with the new combat rules.</P> <P>Sorry for the unintended confusion.</P> <P>===========================<BR>Moorgard<BR>EverQuest II Community Guy </P> <P>------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------</P></BLOCKQUOTE>

So my master 1 RT is the same as App1, nice.  Everything else is good though.

<DIV>i'm confused what does this mean</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>" Warrior pets especially will benefit from this change. Prolly because the one arrow down to normal mob gives tank pets the biggest gains in health/mitigation compared to a scout or warlock pet.

Generally the boost (I parsed it) was for the warrior pets but I did notice some boost in caster dmg as well.  Basicaly your tanks will tank better now because their mititgation is now being assesed at one level higher (so now what you fight thats white is actually white to them.  What you fight that is yellow is yellow to them etc.  The tiering thing I am not sure whats thats about but I think they made it so pets do not level properly at the moment.  My pet hero pet leveled like he was supposed to and I just dinged 33 after the patch yesterday.  Not sure totally but I think the non-down arrow thing is handy.  I have no conclusive proof but the master pets should still be much better than the adepts. <div></div>

The pet is now very strong.  Before this change, at level 29 it is very hard even for UA adept 3 to tank the level 25 double arrow up mob (garbage something mob that looks like purple monkey) in the edgewater drain. Now UA3 can tank it without needing me to spam healing. Also its dps seems to go up too. The tiering thing I believe it means that there is no difference between app 1 and master 1 pet.  Don't really bother me as the pet is already a better tank that the previous master version of the pet..<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>

Even if it is 'slightly' better dps its kind of a moot point because the zombie pets will be too.   Still no point in using them. <div></div>

hmm...not impressed. Master 1 UA is still down arrow with no change in tanking ability. <div></div>

Urbannaja I would /bug that your pet didn't make the cut.  I think this pet upgrade is a good thing though. <div></div>

[expletive ninja'd by Faarbot], I just thought that cackling cadavers in nek were unusually weak, because last night, my undying hero was tearing them up something fierce with very little help from me.  good to know it's a pet ugrade instead of just a unusually weak mob

Actually those are really weak <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> before the stealth upgrade my hero ripped through them and I was excited to see I could take down 23's lol.  Don't worry he is still a LOT stronger than he used to be.  To bad I have to give up my happy hero /sigh <div></div>

I was wondering why my UA Adept I was tearing through Void shrillers in EL.  I knew it wasn't like that before LU11 went live.  Sounds like I need to try some tougher mobs and take advantage of this before the combat changes go live.

Yeah agreed void shrillers turned into paper <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>
