I don't have telamina's pulsating feedback, and I can't ever find groups when I'm online to play. I'd really like to get to 35 as soon as possible, and am 34.8 atm. I hear lots of good experiences with kiting, but it seems people are using a hex doll and telamina's pulsating feedback. Is there a way to get this done w/o the telaminas?

You only need a hex doll but also having a imbued wand will speed things up nicely.

Did you use your option to /reroll?

Could get the snare spell if you dident use it allreay

You can kite with just a hex doll. And to test it I just soloed Jack and Iceberg ( lvl 50 ^^ epic x2 mobs in EF ).

I was kiting when all I had was Telamina's, and since all dots drop early anyway.... "cough" "cough" fix please, you ended up with about a 18 second snare. So yes I would say its very possible to kite with only a Hex doll.

Certain mobs also seem to run faster than others while snared, but I'll let you find out which ones on your own. >

Larger mob tend to give me more trouble than smaller ones. The "hit box" on large mob is bigger to they can reach me easier.

The level 40 training choice has a snare component to it.

I can also suggest duo'n with a ranger who likes to kite.

Ahhh, being a larger mob is probly what it is. The Bloodfiends (or whatever there names are) i EL seemed to run much faster than Lamnias, but since there is quite a difference in mob size the hit box is probly much larger.

It is possible with just a doll to do it. But having a wand will help a lot.

Get the T5 Common snare doll made... It has the same snare effect, but only costs you maybe 15 - 25g... Instead of the 50 - 80g for a T5 rare.

The common has 7 agility, the rare has 12.

OT but on the same note...

I......am an idiot.

I logged in today after the LU10 patch and to my dismay saw the "equipment unattuned" message all over my screen.

I figured out it was my T4 non-rare snare doll...so I quickly attuned it, just in time to slap myself in the head.

I am level 39.9 and have the rare T5 snare doll in my inventory, shouldnt have attuned the T4 one so I could still sell it. Didnt plan on kiting anything for the last 10% anyways.

Oh well, coulda been worse I suppose.

Regards,

Idiot

if a hex doll is grey to you, does it still work as well?

or does it not matter?

Here's why:

I carry 3 different dolls on me and 3 different wands on me at all time. Here's why:

I tend to mentor guildies alot. If I mentor down to a previous tier, my wand and doll's abilities don't work. The items themselves work as far as reduced stats, but not the spells.

So when I mentor, I swap out the T5 wand/doll for the T4 wand/doll. I've even swapped out for T3 stuff. At level 44, I haven't needed to mentor down under level 20. Not sure I would.

Don't expect to use your T4 doll against level 40-50 mob because it won't land or it will rarely land on them.

Also, it may be my imagination because I didn't get my T4 doll until level 37...but my T4 doll is the non rare version and didn't seem to land was well against 38/39 mob as well as my T5 rare doll on level 48/49 mob. Again, it could be my imagination because there are many factors. Such as Nightbloods and lamias might have higher fire resist than mammoths in EF. (dolls use fire resist check) But I have a feeling the rare version of the dolls might land easier than the non-rare version.

Thanks for the comforting reply : )

I wasnt really too worried about it since it was the non rare T4 doll and didnt set me back much to have it made. I'm sure I will start mentoring more whenever I find the right guild for me to join, but for the moment I'll just leave it in the bank. So far I have only mentored once, and that was to kill Ladon with some random people in CL.

As far as resists go for rare/nonrare dolls, I hope you are right. I haven't used my T5 rare doll yet since I just hit 40 yesterday and wanted to destroy my TS vitality real quick after dinging, but I do remember the T4 one being resisted a bit and most times I would just give up on using it at all. I kited lvl 38-39^^ lamias and Chomper in EL around lvl 35 and just gave up on using the doll because it didnt seem to matter if they were snared or not and that was 10 secs I could have used to cast a nuke with my wand.

Now I have the lvl 40 training option with the snare effect, so it will be worth while stacking that with my T5 rare doll so I can cast more spells while kiting, instead of relying on pet/dogs/wand for all my damage.

Thanks,

Eirgorn
