<DIV>Greetings fellow bonebags...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Dont know why this havent been posted before, or why I didnt think of it myself a long time ago. Its not a secret that the Rotting Thrall is our best DPS pet. But picture this scenario. Most of the Rotting Thralls DPS comes from slashing, and some raid mobs are immune/resistant to slashing.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I dont know why none of the foul Necromancers on my own server (Bertoxxulous bless them all) including myself never thought of this. But try using Grim Terror against King Zalak and I hope you see my point. Also, against raid mobs like the Trembler, assasin is quite effective as he can eat a bit more of that nasty AE and doesnt care about Tremblers slash immunity.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Of course it doesnt change the fact that our pets needs a fix. But its nice to use that Master Terror/Assasin you spend all your pp's on, or at least see something else than our rotting friend staring mobs to death.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>i never knew the rt was slash i always assumed crush was rt and slash was assassin. so im guessing assassin is pierce? my rt does good against all the raid mobs except the one in ls(aspixia or something like that) or so i thought.</DIV>

I could be wrong here but our pets are not confied by the same resists like we are. I've never seen my RT NOT do damage or lower damage on certain raid mobs. The DPS for the other two pets just sucks compared to RT.

<P>Tonight, one of our raid targets was Trembler in Zek. A Bruiser in my guild did a DPS log last time we visited the big worm, and my rotting thrall did 0 dps. We did a new log today using my Grim Terror, and it was doing close to the same damage as me.</P> <P>Could be that the DPS program the bruiser is using is bugged, but I dont think so...</P> <P>Would be nice if anyone else who raids 4-7 targets each night like myself would do a few logs and post them.</P> <P>Also, a list of what type of damage the tank, mage and assassin does would be very helpfull. Will do some tests tomorrow but as for now I need to RIP...</P>

Rotting Thralls main damage type is "Disease", not slashing. Against Zalak last time I fought him the pet parsed out at 70dps.

<DIV>Yup, our pets do either poison or disease damage. The RT is disease, I THINK grim is disease with a poison melee (like that matters), and the assassin is poison.</DIV>

I am not sure how this works on the app1-4 and adept 1-3 line, but on the Master version each time you summon the pet it spawns with a random set of equipment (Spear, Cutlass, Stiletto, some curved blade, and maybe another can't remember) Some are piercing some are slashing. So, it can be used I guess on mobs that are resistant to X type of attack. Does some decent damage but the only problem is that it uses mana like its going out of style (10-15 secs on a raid and its nearly oom)<BR></DIV>
