<DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Q.  I just harvested a rare, what spell should I upgrade?</STRONG></DIV> <DIV><STRONG></STRONG> </DIV> <DIV>Courtesy of Elewood's FAQ here : <A href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=30&message.id=3829" target=_blank>http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=30&message.id=3829</A></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>A.  Another one that's a little subjective but I'll answer what I would do.  All spells should be upgraded as high as possible, preferably to adept 1... these spells are the over and above's; the ones that should be adept 3.  There are two lists of spells to upgrade, just getting to a spell or if you're upgrading older spells and I'll note if there should be another spell in consideration after each tier listing.  If I offer advice that goes against what you'll normally hear, my reasons will be included:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>T2 (Level 10 to 19)</DIV> <DIV>1.  Soothe Servant (our only direct pet heal, doesn't share a timer with the necro heals so important all the way to lvl50)</DIV> <DIV>2.  Agitation (the proc stacks with all necro buffs, the only problem with it is at the higher levels the proc can't hit raid mobs)</DIV> <DIV>3.  Essence shift (stacks with all other pet taps, you'll stop using it around 50 but helps all the way 'til that level)</DIV> <DIV>Special notes:  If you are just getting to 13 and harvest a rare, dust blast goes to the number one spot in upgrade order.  If you're in the 20's stick to the listed order.  The recommended are used all the way to 50 so can be upgraded any time.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>T3 (Level 20 to 29)</DIV> <DIV>1.  Undying adherant (tank pet, most important spell upgrade every time)</DIV> <DIV>2.  Pestilential blast</DIV> <DIV>3.  Swarm of rats</DIV> <DIV>4.  Boon of the lifeless</DIV> <DIV>Special notes:  If you aren't fairly near (levelwise) when you receive these upgrades, don't bother.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>T4 (Level 30 to 39)  Tricky level range since you've got carryover into the current final tier.</DIV> <DIV>1.  Rotting Thrall (single most important spell we have)</DIV> <DIV>2.  Plague of Rats (huge damage spell, well worth the rare)</DIV> <DIV>3.  Words of the wicked (great pet buff, worth the upgrade)</DIV> <DIV>4.  Ghastly stench</DIV> <DIV>Special notes:  Many would recommend swarm of bats, I do not.  The upgrade from apprentice 4 to adept 3 is about 6% damage increase, on that spell the increase translates to about 25 more damage every 24 seconds, not worth the rare.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>T5 (Level 40-50)  Lots of special considerations in this tier, the initial list is upgrading when 50</DIV> <DIV>1.  Siphon life (our only truely stackable necro spell)</DIV> <DIV>2.  Lich (it's a pretty good power spell, not great but worth the upgrade)</DIV> <DIV>3.  Skinrot (a good nuke, be sure if you have another level 50 in your guild that you upgrade at the same time otherwise you two won't stack at all)</DIV> <DIV>4.  Rending Frenzy (pet buff, always worth upgrading)</DIV> <DIV>5.  Necrotic mending (last pet heal)</DIV> <DIV>6.  Stench of the grave</DIV> <DIV>7.  Death's coil</DIV> <DIV>Special notes:  If you're just coming up on either 1 or 3, upgrade the one you're closest to.  If you just hit 45 and got a rare, get siphon, if you just hit 43, get skinrot.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Hope that helps,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Eirgorn</DIV></DIV>
