Making what spell from a Rough Opal?

I just dug up an opal a couple nights ago - I'm going to have a Rotting Thrall Adept 3 waiting for me when I get to the level to use it - that is, when I get around to finding a scholar to make it.

What is the difference between an adept1 and adept3 plague of rats ? Anyone seen a big dps boost ? I have adept1 and it summons 2  blue double arrow down rats. The training dogs are actually 3 in number and single arrow down but they maxed out at 44.

One even con rat, 125% damage increase.  I've got a raid parse of fetids (the blue pair) doing 9,500 damage, the bloated (even con one) doing 12,250 damage.  That's a huge upgrade and why I place it second.

Get them both if possible because they stack and don't share a timer.  Since you'll be hitting level 35 soon and are a long way from Stench at level 49, ghastly is a wise upgrade too. <div></div>
