<DIV>Hey everyone.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>At level 3 I received some silly quilted peice of junk. At level 10 I got some priestly white robe. I am presently doing the quest to become a necromancer, and I'm wondering if I'll ever be able to get a DARK robe. Black or gray would be great, but even any other color that's a nicely dismal dark color would be great.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I've checked the broker on my server and we don't have a single +Int very light armor chest for sale that I can use at my level.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm tired of looking like some foppy cleric in my white robe! ::sob:: Why can't I just soak it in the blood of my slain enemies so it turns a nice dark rusty brown color? Is that too much to ask?</DIV>

at level 50 i have still not found a black or grey robe, im using a Tundra walkers robe which is dark blue with some light blue details. Its really a shame that havent made more variations of the robes. Hopefully it will change though. /Atziamhe <div></div>

<P>The stats on it are pretty poor, but the "Bloodstained Robe" looks and sounds like something a Necromancer might wear. :smileyhappy: Here's a picture of my girlfriend's character in it:</P> <P><IMG src="http://home.san.rr.com/thuytran/pictures/doggies1.JPG"></P> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Again, the stats are rather mediocre, but it is, in my opinion, one of the best looking robes in the game. The quest for it starts in North Freeport. Near the guy that gives the access quest for Fallen Gate (near the Thieve's Way entrance) is another NPC, a Dark Elf somewhat hiding in one of the corners. She'll give you the quest once you've finished the Fallen Gate access quest for Kanos. :smileyhappy: As for black robes, I've never seen one. Anyways, good luck!</DIV>

<DIV>Hey, a dark red robe is pretty nice! Seeing as necromancers are powerful anyway, and the robe is the only main peice of equipment visible, nothing else I wear will be an appearance concern - so I'll worry with the rest of my equipment about getting ahold of some really ugly but powerful stuff.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What level do I need to be to do the access quest and then the quest for the robe? I'm currently 18 and just starting on my Necromancer class quest, but I should definately be 20 by this weekend.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also, are both of those quests solo-friendly?</DIV>
<DIV>The bloodstained robe quest started in north freeport. The npc is right by the entrance to thieves way. It will take you into fallen gate so it is not soloable at 18 or 20. but since you probably go there anyway no harm in grabbing it. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>edit: opps sorry missed the text under the pic. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>no niether are soloable at your level. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>also, the level 20 armor quest gives a black and redish color robe I believe. the level 30 armor quest in runnyeye grants a grey and black robe. </DIV> <P>Message Edited by Ponno on <SPAN class=date_text>05-10-2005</SPAN> <SPAN class=time_text>03:53 PM</SPAN></P><p>Message Edited by Ponno on <span class=date_text>05-10-2005</span> <span class=time_text>04:50 PM</span>

<P>Here are some other options I have seen/used for robes.</P> <P>For levels 11 -14 you can use the Renegade Diviners Blouse that looks like a dirt colored robe, which should give more hp/power than the class quest robe that gives 3int and 1 sta iirc. Found in Valley of the Rogue Magi.</P> <P>Then at 14 change into the Flowing Robes of D'Lyle. Found in the instanced zone Valley of the Rogue Magi off the Commonlands (easy access quest)</P> <P>Then at 21 go to the Oracle Robe. An easy quest from Varsoons that you can do pre 21 with invis.</P> <P>Then at 24 you can use the AQ6 robe Thick Woven Robe <A href="http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/items/ThickWovenRobe.php" target=_blank>http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/items/ThickWovenRobe.php</A> which I think looks better but doesnt have as good of stats. It is the 6th quest in the series from Kirsteh the Witch in EFP.</P> <P>I think at 30-31 I switched to the Robe of the Valekeeper, which is a quest reward along the new EL quest paths which are easy, enjoyable, and give good rewards.</P> <P>Here are some pictures of all of the ones I described:</P> <P> </P> <IMG alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com" src="http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y53/Eirgorn/robestats.jpg"> <P></P><IMG alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com" src="http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y53/Eirgorn/flowingrobe.jpg"> <IMG alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com" src="http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y53/Eirgorn/oraclerobe.jpg"> <IMG alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com" src="http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y53/Eirgorn/dirtrobe.jpg"> <P>The Thick Woven Robe:</P><IMG alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com" src="http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y53/Eirgorn/thickwoven.jpg"> <P>And the Robe of the Valekeeper:</P><IMG alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com" src="http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y53/Eirgorn/Valerobe.jpg"> <IMG alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com" src="http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y53/Eirgorn/valekeeperstats.jpg"> <DIV><?DIV> <P>I Hope all those showed up ok<?P> <P>Thanks</P> <P>Eirgorn</P></DIV>

<P>Thanks everyone! Given me some good options. For the moment I'm working on the Bloodstained Robe, and then I will work towards the level 20 armor quest robe and see how it looks on me. I like the scarlet of the Bloodstained Robe, though, so I may end up using that all the way until my level 30 armor quest robe, which looks great also.</P> <P>Incidentally, is there any reason why a robe on a Ratonga is solid on the bottom (as a robe should be), and robes on a high elf apparently are made of various flaps of cloth that dangle, but don't do much to hide legs and pants underneath. It's an interesting graphical design (and it's not a glitch, either), but it's not particularly robe-like. Maybe it's just that way on the robes I have? Who knows.</P> <P>Then again, I'd just be happy if they'd make my body and my exterior clothing into "solid" objects in the game world. As it is, depending on the way my robe is flowing it ends up flowing through my body, and so on...it's a common thing though, in WoW the cloaks did the same thing. My sword always kept poking through my cloak. What's a shame though is that from a programming perspective it'd be pretty easy to tell the two 3D objects that they are solid and can't pass through eachother.</P>

<P>Yeah, I'm kind of disappointed by the appearance of most of the robes I've seen thus far. Don't get me wrong, they do look good, just not as "necro" as I'd like. </P> <P>The one robe that I've seen in-game that I think would be absolutely perfect for necros is the one that you can see on many of the caster NPCs in Freeport. It's black with blood red trim. As far as I can tell, it's an NPC-only robe. Does anyone know which robe I'm talking about?</P> <P> </P> <P>Kaellaar</P> <P>29 Necro - Nektulos</P>

The robe from the <a href="http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/quests/GoblinRampage.php" target=_blank>Goblin Rampage</a> quest in Runnyeye is <a href="http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/items/NeeklubsRobeofEfficiency.php" target=_blank>Neeklubs Robe of Efficiency</a> <img src="http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/uploads/eq2items/2683/image/neeklub.jpg"> I'm still using it at 40 and I haven't found anything I like better yet. <div></div>
<DIV>You'll be wearing the Invoker robe or Rallosian gown anyways. I hope Sony puts a little creativity into the next release. I'd like to know the time I put into leveling is going to make getting geared up fun. WoW has a ton of items but little end game content. I'm hoping they take a look at WoW and see that items don't ruin the economy. They need a little more item and spell distribution. Why is it that master chests don't yeild master spells? Sony is stingier than my father with rewards in the game. Maybe they see the game as not a lot of risk. It's not like the game is hard. It not twich like HL2 and Halo. It's not complex like a Mensa puzzle. It just takes a lot of time. Not sure if EQ2 is going to get 260 played out of me. I'm kinda getting sick of the timesink mentality without rewards.b </DIV>

<P>Jai,</P> <P>As a former WoW player, I can give you this advice: Yes, the economy in WoW IS broken. Not because of the items themselves, though, mainly just because tradeskilling is really stupid in WoW. Having experienced and developed many tradeskills, I can assure you that it is exceedingly difficult to make a profit at any of them, and most people are uninterested in paying money for your wares, because they can just go and find better things from enemy drops.</P> <P>In my opinion, part of the reason SOE is keeping drops limited in EQ2 is to encourage people to craft. Their crafting system is a little complex, but I think it's more interesting than the system used in EQ1 or WoW. I like how I get experience, gain levels, and so forth, meaning that I could in theory be a level 10 character who is a level 50 crafter. Provided I had a supplier for raw materials, of course, since I wouldn't be durable enough to go hunt them myself.</P> <P>Remember also that EQ1 was out for a very long time, and to my knowledge is still played by some today. Expect EQ2 to have the same lifespan, and have numerous expansions and developments over time. Because of this, don't be alarmed by any lack of content right now - there will be more! My experience with Blizzard has taught me that even their most widely played games only get one expansion pack, and most of Blizzard's time is spent releasing balance patches and so forth. The patches are good, but I can't say if their expansion pack strategy will work well with WoW. The game was released early as it is (to compete with EQ2 at Christmas), so it could be Christmas 2005 before they have an expansion for sale, or even later. Sure, they have some new things coming (like Battlegrounds) but that won't truly add new end-game content. Using the Diablo series as an example, Blizzard tends to like to let people achieve their goals relatively easily, and then achieve those same goals over and over and over with new characters, as opposed to making new goals to reach.</P> <P>Anyway I'm rambling now. I like both companies, but I don't play WoW anymore. Just be patient and more will get added to EQ2. Provided people would quit being silly and leaving over Station Exchange, that is. My opinion on that - as long as it's on it's own servers, if people are going to do it anyway, it's only right that the company just accept that and let them. Doesn't mean I'll do it or that I like people who do, but if it makes the company some money that they can use to develop additional game content, well, huzzah new game content!</P>
