<DIV>Hi, I was just looking at our pet types we recieve and I can't help but wonder that even IF any pet other than the Zombies or Grim Corrupter were viable what would be the point of the assassin pets?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If we need a pet that can take hits, we'd use the tank.  If we're in a group and just want pure damage we'd use the warlock.  So what is the point of the assassin pet?  Is he (ideally) just another dps pet?  In which case..what's the point?  Does he do anything special that would make you want to have him around over having the warlock's dps along with Grim Presence?  The only situation where I could think he might be useful is one in which you want damage..but you know that the encounter has AE's that would kill your corruptor whereas the assassin could take some hits.  But that seems really limited, situational, and knowing what to expect.  Whereas the other two pets have rather defined roles.  If they can't give the assassin some sort of purpose maybe they should replace him with a support type pet.  It seems to be that with 3 pet types those would be tank, dps, and support.  Not tank, dps, and dps.  I still have half a level till i scribe my assassin pet but just thinking on it has made me wonder.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Note: I'm speaking "ideally", i know in their current state the assassins and all but the training warlocks are useless.  It's something to think on with supposed changes in our future.</DIV>

<DIV>our assassin pet is complete [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot], worthless.  The caster pet has so so dps at adept 3 for me...this is the one you get at 34 i believe, or somewhere around there.  The Rotting Thrall pet however owns.  This bad boy is no joke, I brought mine up to adept 3 today as well, thanks to a terrific guildie named Chasitie, and this SOB rocks.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Will they make our other pets worth a flip /shrug  I bet its pretty low on SoE's agenda to be honest.  Just 'suck it up' till you can use the RT I suppose, once you get this pet it helps a ton.  Chuggin away at lvl 40 now, 41 is in sight and this class gets better n better despite our [Removed for Content] and lame other pets.  Best of luck to you</DIV>

<DIV>Well I found one use for my Assassin.  I dont think it's the intended one though :smileywink:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When I first got him, I took him out, and steered him into some light where I could actually see him.  What a body ladies, and gentlemen of a certain persuasion, that pet has.  In fact err I got a cheap adept 1 of him just so I can have a hunk I can see with two big swords following me round town instead of my UA lol.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Sadly when it comes to fighting, I think he spent too much time in Freeport gym working out and not enough learning to use his weapons.  Shame sigh.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Helene</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Century size=2><EM>lvl 34 Necromancer of Antonia Bayle </EM></FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Century size=2><EM></EM></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Century size=2><EM>Owner of Ken the faithful but dim Fallen Hero ( we are so fond of him that he still comes out for easy fights)  and Fred  the frankly creepy UA who's obsessed with his Mistress</EM></FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Century size=3><EM></EM></FONT> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>I have only found 1 reason to use him instead of the caster pet.  when you are fighting a large group of mobs in a group situation you constantly have to pet attack every time a mob goes down.  But with the assassin he is right in the middle of battle meaning he will attack whichever mob is attacking him.  This alows you to get a few extra hits in, but obviously the mobs go down in seconds so the gain is very minimal.  That being said I never use the assasin and always go for the Grim Corruptor.</DIV>

I don't see how that's any different.  The Rotting Thrall does more damage than the assassin and is right in the middle of things too.  Even the warlock lacks the AI to stand back and nuke..he runs right upto his target and nukes it from a foot away.

<SPAN>The only use I found is to cast it while my other pet is dying and I can't really prevent it from doing so. Casting the 32 assassin pet does not cancel my warlock or tank pet. As soon as the assassin shows up, my other pet disappears. I have to to get the aggro on the new pet and while the assassin gets beat up I recast one of the useful pets. Sounds a bit like a bug to me but that's the only positive thing I noticed about that pet. </SPAN>
