I'm not nearly an expert yet, but from what I have seen and read our spell upgrades are way more important than our gear. Basically because we have our pet as a mana battery, so for most purposes, we don't need uber int to survive as a caster. I've heard other people say beefing up our health and sta, and resistances help for that fact if we do get smacked, it won't be as bad. I'd let some of our other tenure throw their advise before settling with something. Midigation will probably never be high enough to make a difference. We don't last long toe to toe, but sometimes that extra 50 health give's one more chance for a root/stun to stick. But definately wait to see what others think, because like I said, I'm still learning the class too.

Which is more desireable - con yellow equipment without INT or green or even grey equipment with +INT? There is really no 'blanket' answer for this question. It's very situational... depending on your level, the availablity of items in your level range, and the specifics of the items available to you. Some would say that you should focus on getting all int gear, some would argue that items with well-rounded stats are the way to go (I'm in this camp). Items that have large amounts of health and power may take precidence over items with INT on them. Tundra Walker's Gear for example, these items are pretty common drops in Everfrost, I believe all pieces have INT on them, but the items themselves are not that spectacular (I would go as far as to say that they are mediocre at best) and IMHO, are merchant fodder. These items are all blue to me at level 50. If I have too choose between a +5 INT Bracer and a Bracer with +10 STA, +5 AGI + 1 INT... I'll choose the broader range of stats over a little nibble of INT. Now take my necro for example, I have the Stien of Moggok, and Tarton's Wheel. The stien has 14 INT but the other stats are mediocre, the wheel has 12 INT, but the wheel has also 50 power and a nice effect... which do I have equiped? Tarton's Wheel Again, taking my necro as an example... Ancient Slayer's Ring of Intelligence, it has +9 INT and decent stats for a level 30, so why am I at level still wearing it at level 50? Cause good INT rings are at a premium in this game, and want to keep my INT above 200. :smileymad: Ralosian Gown (+12 INT) vs Invoker's Robe (no INT at all, but high AGI & Power Regen). Which robe am I wearing? No brainer... Invoker's Robe. Another thing to consider... Once you reach 45 and finally get a "real" lifetap... you may begin to start considering STA as important as INT (I do). I have 2 power regen items (Invoker's Robe and Golden Efreeti Boots) plus I have a Manastone, in addition I still have my pet to draw power from. Putting all these pieces together... The larger my health pool is, the larger pool I have to draw from to suppliment my power when it runs low (which rarely happens nowadays, mostly in raid situations). Large health pool + Self-Ward + Manastone = basically some free power every couple of mins.

What role do mitigation play for us necros? While having high mitigation means you get hit less, if you are getting hit so much that this becomes a factor in your gear selection, you are doing something wrong, and not paying attention to what you SHOULD be focusing on... Agro Management :smileywink:. Remember... you have pets and tanks to do that dirty work for you. Just because we can lifetap does not mean we are "Mage-Tanks". Check out my character profile to see my gear stategy. Hope this helps, Nyarlathotep

Thought this might help you: Moorgard was talking about the spell changes that are happening as part of the combat balance - "As for the next phase of the changes that will be showing up on Test server soon: Intelligence will provide a much more noticeable bonus to spell damage, and Wisdom will be important for mitigating the damage bonus of your opponent. So yes, you will have a good reason to buff your INT and WIS, just like many of you have been asking for. " Hope it helps in your choice.

Nice, so this means with the Warlock pet up (our group pet) that we'll be providing improved damage for the melee as well as the casters.
