View Full Version : THANK GOD for parcer prgs
<DIV>I was really feeling down and out about my lvl 27 Necro. I was watching many other classess solo mobs I could not. When I was in a group I fealt like I wasnt doing much damage. I was doubting my play style and was wondering if I was playing my character class properly... Then I got a parcer.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And... although Ive only had it for a day, I have been in approx 7 groups, and in all of them I FAR out damaged my peers (I have yet to group with a wizard/warlock).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thank God for my parcer prg... I got my confidence back!! <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>===========</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>On a related note.... as mentioned above, Iam lvl 27... the last few lvls have been HELL for me. It seems mobs are either way to tough or way to easy and offer little xp. Has anyone else experienced this at lvl 27? And if so, please tell me there are brighter days ahead.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thxs</DIV>

<DIV>At lvl 29 Me beign a wiz and a Necro lvl 30 that I regurlary group with or at least have the last few days. Our DPS was fairly close however I ussually was ahead of him. the difference was when mobs were red to me , he would have a better shot consider the pet does melees and isn't handed the chance of resists. When we fought yellow or lower mobs, I ussually blew everyone out at least by 40% or so. That being said. I was working my butt off and have nearly all ad3's and a few ad1's.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You always have the guarantee that you will do at least somewhat consistent dmg. WIzLocks on the other hand have to deal with Resists, if we have a really bad round, the healer might out dps us. =p</DIV><p>Message Edited by Supafroius on <span class=date_text>02-11-2005</span> <span class=time_text>10:46 AM</span>

I found mobs in TS are good at 27, particularly the solo centaurs near Coldwind Cove and skellies near Varsoons. The groups I have been in have been impressed with the damage output mainly on AoE dots if we are chanterless. I don't know if that qualifies us as a true DPS class but it sure makes me feel good about contributing.

<DIV>the late 20 ish lvls. were slow for me as well best thing would be to go to ts and find you a giant group. once you hit lvl29 you get your p.b. nuke spell then your ready for rov. which is good xp grind till you hit lvl 33. imo anyway.</DIV>

<DIV>At level's 37-38 I've been in groups with the same few wizards in rivervale over the past week or so. As a general rule my DPS will be right about even witht he wizards DPS. Sometimes they hit a little bit higher, sometimes I do. If I get lazy and stop refreshing buffs or my pet pulls agro on something and I have to heal him the wizard will squeek ahead of me, if he gets a few resists I'll blow him out of the water. We really do seem to be pretty even to me...</DIV>

At 46 I am usually the main DPS in a group unless im grouped with a good Zerker (They are getting nerfed soon anyway)
I was a little down at levels 30-34, where my DPS was relativley the worse it had ever been. But people on this board said wait until level 35.Well at level 35 I got Ghastly Stench Adept1. Here's my rough DPS progression, as i remember it31: 35-4032:40-4533:45-5034:50-6035:80-100What a difference. Using Adept1 Stalker with trained Pet Buff(don't have Thulian), App4 Withering Affliction, App4 Breath of the unearthed, and Mheno's Desecration. So i'm not exactly rich when it comes to Adepts. First time(which was within 5 battles) i cracked 100dps on a single mob without the benefit of HO's was quite satisfying.<p>Message Edited by Jeff59 on <span class=date_text>02-12-2005</span> <span class=time_text>06:34 PM</span>

<DIV>I love ghastly stench! I actually have to be careful of agro now ! =)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It looks like our DPS is going to skyrocket for the next few levels. At lvl 38, we get RT and that will add 15-20 dps more then the corrupter. At lvl 40 we get a new training selection, one of which is an upgrade to Ghastly Stench. I believe this 40 training will actually be better then the lvl 49 upgrade to Ghastly Stench. It seems like each of the training skills is actually better then the next version of the spell it is an upgrade too. For example, if you look at Pack of Dogs lvl 30 training, that's actually more compareable to lvl 37 Plague of Rats then the Swarm of Rats spell which it upgrades.</DIV>
Finally after a dozen or so levels of searching I found an Adept 1 Thulian, even if i did pay way to much for it. Its been a good few EQ2 days.

At level 40 another player was parsing our full group, on most occasions I was the main DPS, sometimes doing 50% of group total, in one fight I managed 70%. DPS dropped considerably against multiple group mobs as DOT's are too slow to apply effectively (the mob dies too quickly anyway) plus Pestilential Blast and our AoE aren't on par with a wizzy. In these fights the scout (Troubador) was shining through. Against the single ^^ group mobs we necros do very well.We are a great DPS class.

Most people have preconcieved notions from EQ1 and dont realize we are not the same as in EQ1 (I like us better here at high levels)

Yes, we shine against single ^^ mobs. At level 40, I usually do between 100-150 DPS.
