no, the only way to find a wandering mob is to have track. There is a map interface that will tell you the general area for wandering/groups of mobs, and many namdes are nonmoving, so you can remember where they are. Otherwise, you need to have tracking. Petpulling is something though, you find a mob, and send pet to attack it. Can be dangerous though, so be careful.

Bah, its only dangerous to the pet! YOU get a nice headstart while the swarm of mobs shred your pet first. :p
