<div>Does either the blazing presence or the elemental vestment work with the fire pet? To my experience thus far, the answer is no. I have used blazing presence extensively, but am fairly new with elemental vestment. Both proc off the pet hitting a mob. Though both these buffs are quite nice, they seem absolutely useless with the mage pet. If this is the case, this seems a little unbalanced compared to the necromancer's spells of the equivalent level. Their 50th level Lich has no reliance upon their pet at all. And their 58th level ancient pet buff, I can't recall the name but do recall the effect, is a pet proc that goes off when the pet hits a mob in melee <em>or when casting spells</em>. By no means do I believe the nec's spells should be changed, I just believe that the conj's spells should include spell attacks made from the mage pet. Thoughts...?</div><div> </div><div>Vaeron</div>
<div></div><p>Yes both buffs work with the mage pet, blazing presents takes much longer to proc while on mage pet but it does work, as for elemental vestment it works too well on the mage pet. When it procs its very noticable as all the mobs will be on your pet, unless you have a very good tank.</p><p>I can say that out of all my spells elemental vestment on the mage pet is what gets me killed the most, but its just too tempting not to use it when fighting large groups of mobs hehe</p>

<div></div><div></div><div></div><div>They both work. </div><div> </div><div>EV on a mage pet against a large group of mobs = aggro. </div><div> </div><div>I am not about to complain about either spell (EV in particular), as they are both very powerful.</div><p>Message Edited by Blitzrain on <span class="date_text">02-11-2006</span><span class="time_text">12:41 PM</span></p>
Blazing Presence procs from spell casts as well, unless they just broke this in LU19.<div></div>

<div></div>So if BP and EV is not useful with the fire pet, then don't you give up two very nice spells to use him? Is there any trade off for using the fire pet? Or does this just make the fire pet less desirable?

Whoa! Back the suck truck up.BP and EV are both very useful on the Mage pet.First, BP is WONDERFUL on the Mage pet. Yes, it procs much slower . . . but this is a GOOD thing. It means you can use it right off the top of the fight and not wait. It procs slower . . . produces less burst aggro. Often, this functionality means that you are able to use BP *more* often with the Mage pet for increased DPS with less risk of burst DPS netting aggro.EV is god like on the Mage pet. You simply have to learn how to control it. Like most things a Conjuror has at their disposal, you must learn how to use it PROPERLY as opposed to just spamming things.EV only procs when YOU, the Conjuror, do something. You are the one in control of how often it procs! I'll often use it right at the start of a fight against a large group of mobs. While tank is pulling, I start casting EV. I tell my pet to attack. I will then cast Pyrotechnics, a slow casting spell, to get the first proc of EV, as well as getting that nice AE dumbfire running. Count to 3. Cast Shattered Lands, triggering another proc of EV. Count to 5. Cast Flash Flood. Count to 5. Cast Seismic Tremor. It's up to YOU to control how often that proc goes off. Don't just spam spells out to proc it as often as possible. That will get your pet, and subsequently YOU, aggro. Give your tank a fair chance to hold aggro and you'll be fine. You must simply exercise CAUTION and RESTRAINT.Just like a Wizard cannot spam his spells, you cannot do so either when using Elemental Vestment. You can do more damage than you can hold the aggro for. Learn how much is the right amount with your tank and you will come to LOVE this spell.<div></div>

<div>I usually never use either spell with the mage pet, in fact I hardly ever use the mage pet period. Because 1.) BP only seems to trigger if a mob hits the pet. 2.) The pet nukes far too slowly to make EV worthwhile.</div><div> </div><div>If I use the scout pet it will easily use all the BP triggers and I can fire off a crapload more spells for EV triggers. If the scout pet gets aggro 1.) It'll live longer than the mage pet, 2.) I can simply use Vehement Rock and/or a heal to stall until the mob is dead, and of course both will trigger EV for additional damage.</div><div> </div><div>If BP and EV both trigger when the pets cast spells they should really put it in the spell description. The way I read it now it appears that they only work with melee attacks.</div>

I can personally guarantee you that BP and EV work with the mage pet. As I said above, you can really get yourself in some SERIOUS trouble with the Mage pet and these spells. In PPR for instance, there are some groups of mobs that can be up to 20 mobs in one encounter.Me, a Warlock and a Zerker were talkin trash on Ventrilo so we decided to see what we could do with the next group since we all had our "special" DPS spells up. I died horribly, but I died happy.Jabober was sitting at 3000 DPS when he died with my own DPS at around 900. The mobs were not amused, but I was.<div></div>

Unless LU19 broke it, BP and EV <i>both</i> work when the Fire pet cast spells.

<div></div>aye not sure how you can miss it but its very apparent BP procs off of mage casting, or does your fire pet do double hits all the time....? cause mine dont and they hit nicely with bp on, also its a different dmg color floating above the mob so you can always see it that way
If you read the description for Blazing Presence or Elemental Vestment is says on the pet's next successful attack. It does not specify that it has to be either melee or a spell cast. The only part that has a qualifier, is the "damage shield" portion of Blazing Presence which can only go off it the pet is HIT with melee. The devs don't have to change or reword anything. People just need to get their heads out of their [Removed for Content] and read what's already there.<div></div>
