Quick question on Earth Pet

<div>Ok, I am a level 54 conjurer and i have soloed almost exclusively to that level.  I have the level 52 master earth pet and all my other pets are adept III.  If i am fighting grays or greens for quests and writs, i almost always use my air pet and if i am xping, i almost always use my earth pet.  Now I havent been playing my conjurer for long.  At level 54 I still only have 14 days played, so obviously i xped pretty fast to get where I am.  My question and my problem are this.  I see that alot of people solo with their scout pet instead of their earth pet.  I have tried to solo yellow ^^^ heriocs with my scout pet and I do not even come close to killing the mob.  If i use my earth pet, I can kill the mob and live pretty easily.  The fight doesnt usually last that long and I still have alot of power left.  My question is this, can I kill these mobs because i have the master version of earth and the adept III version of scout just isnt close to being tough enough.  I have tried different tactics with the scout but nothing seems to work.  Is it really worth it?  By using the scout pet, i would only be nocking at most 20 seconds off of the battle and I would probably have to recast the scout pet in the middle of the battle anyway.  Why bother?  Maybe because i have soloed almost exclusively with the earth pet my entire career I have honed my skills with him to where I know exactly what to do and i just need to work on my other pets, but is it worth it?  Any thoughts out there?</div>

It depends what your doing in my experience. For soloing high green + heroics then the earth pet is the best choice for nearly any encounter I'v experienced. The air pet relies on avoidance and like everyone else the higher the mob the more their avoidance is chopped.I have the master air pet and I only solo with my air pet when its either non heroics or heroics that are quite green, and many times I still have to put defensive stance on the air pet so I dont have to heal it so much and use the clicky heal stick every once in a while. If this is the case then the air pet has the advantage because it still deals much more damage in defensive stance than the earth pet will in offensive.<div></div>

<div></div><p>I tend to use very hard singleton heroics for XP too and use the Earth pet. However, there are tactics that work with the air pet which involve kiting with Frigid Wind and rooting techniques.
