<div><div>I haven't heard much about Necro/Conj in PvP while reading the PvP forums. Do any of you have plans to use this profession on the new PvP servers?</div><div> </div><div>What is the general consensus of the usefulness/performance of a summoner type in PvP?</div><div> </div><div>Discuss.</div></div>

<div></div>Dunno, depends in part on how well the taunt thing works. Tank pet has taunts and as I understand it you have to target a taunting player. If this doesn't work, I doubt we'll be very good as people can just bypass the pet and go for us, and we can't take many hits......

I especially like the defensive stance that summoners get that causes the pet to build extra hate. It will be interesting to see how effective taunt is to get players to involuntarily switch targets.

<div></div>I don't think that taunts will work ever against other players .. or have you ever been taunted from the pet of a conjurer type of mob .. or even from any tank class mob ? :smileyvery-happy:

Thus the tank pet will probably be able to hold the targetting of players on them for a moment. It just depends how powerful they make this. I doubt he will be able to hold targetting on them permanently, but it may be just enough for Conjurors to land shattered land, lauch fish, cast Calcify and sit down to relax.

Frigid Winds would be my cast after Shattered, unless it was a Ranger I was dealing with.<div></div>

<div>taunts will have no effect in pvp, if they do I would be very very very shocked. pet classes would utilize the pets as more of a dot and try to cripple / kite people in open pvp ...</div>

Yes, as has been pointed out several times, taunt will be able to force the player to target the "taunter". The only question which remains is how effective/powerful will this be.<div></div>

I have a conjurer but i think i'll role a monk or bruiser. rangers are ok swashys are great but if there jumped from behind there screwed. I could never duel very well with my conjurer cause with the pets beating on the opponent it would always break the root, so agility tanking seems a good way to go.<div></div>
