<div>Hi  All,</div><div> </div><div>I have just returned to my Conjurer after a long break (pre combat patch) for another look. He is lvl 32 at the moment and I am looking forward to spending some time away from my main leveling him up.</div><div> </div><div>One question though, did SOE nerf pet healing? I seem to remember the last time I played my Conj that he was able to heal his pet for allot more than he can now. In-fact I remember at 32 having more than one healing spell, now I only have 1 and it only heals for around 240hp, you can hardly see the health bar move with the tank pets. Am I missing a spell? Does it get any better in the later levels? (like a regen line or sommit?) or was it a deliberate nerf to balance out the DPS increase that we are supposed to of had?</div>

<div></div><p>There was a major overhaul of the combat/spell system awhile back, pet healing was one of the casualties of the revamp.</p><p>1) DPS pets now work!  The earth pet used to do as much (if not more) DPS as the air and fire pets.  Now the DPS pets are quite impressive (fire pet is caster/AE, air pet is scout and mainly single target).  The earth pet now has an AE taunt and a lot more hitpoints, but does a lot less damage.</p><p>2) All pets now have 0 mitigation.  Where a tank pet fully buffed used to be almost as good as a true tank, now they take a beating, especially against heroics.  Most conjurors go with the stun/stifle and burn em down method (Personally, I use the air pet when soloing 75%+ of the time due to this).</p><p>3) As you noticed, heal spells dont work nearly as well.  When the tank pet was dropped to 0 mitigation, its hitpoints were increased.  Sounds almost balanced, untill you stop to consider that your pet actually gets hit harder that you do!  If you can kill the mob fast, great!  If not, most priests will struggle to keep your pet alive over time.</p><p>The class is still very solid over all, but it is not near the solo powerhouse it was (well, it does get easier again 50+ and especially 55+ due to a few new spells).</p><p>Good luck</p><p> </p><p>Message Edited by Twofeets on <span class="date_text">01-20-2006</span><span class="time_text">04:59 AM</span></p>

<div>I seem to remember the pet heals always sucking.  But I dunno, I don't think I had ever relied heavily on them.</div>

<div></div>Heals are somewhat weaker than before the revamp (and they were weak then), plus you can't stack your heal with your lower level heal like before.  Heals are really nothing more than a downtime reducer on tank pets.

<div>Heals are somewhat less effective than before the Combat Revamp it's true.</div><div> </div><div>However, even before the combat revamp healing the pet was a secondary activity used sparingly by most players. In general, your casting time will be better spent delivering more DPS than healing. There are situations though where healing the pet is useful - usually restricted to getting the Earth pet to tank a few seconds more in order to allow the mob to be killed or the stuns/stifles to recycle.</div><div> </div><div>Use of the heal will very much depend upon your tactics and playstyle. Some conjurors will use it more than others.</div><div> </div><div>X</div>

<div></div>Yes now the heals are patch heals.....the most used concept is to stiffle (rock rain - Stiffle), Tremor (Earthquake Stun), Harden(Paralyze - Stun). Our secret is to throw a bunch of dps and stun and stiffle the mob. It truely works great, but if you are used to killing heroics with minimal gear, you need to re-up your equipment and spells.

<div>Heal is good if you are mass farming and don't want to wait on pet, kill a few groups throw on a heal, kill a few more groups and so on.</div>

Yup, what the above said.Plus, and this is straight from the mouth of the dev team themselves (I should know, I asked them in person), Conjurors are such powerful soloers right now that increasing our pet heals by <i>any</i> amount would make us overpowered. And unfortunately, I agree, and you'd be hard pressed to find people that would disagree IMO.

<div>Aye, we solo so well right now that if our pet heals were any better we'd be way overpowered.  Even nerfed, Rebuild Servant Adept III makes for a pretty fair heal on my Myrmidon, and on the Air and Fire pets, it's a huge percentage heal.</div><div> </div><div>As it is though, in the 50's, mobs do so much damage that the time it takes to cast a heal just isn't worth it usually.  I'll throw one in if I'm waiting for all my recast timers to reset, or maybe if I've rooted one mob of a mutil-mob encounter and have some time between mobs, otherwise I just use it to reduce downtime too.</div>
