I was on a froggy raid last weekend, my first raid since LU18.As usual I was using scout pet (a3) with Insignia and Aggravate (both now Master I ), and I put on blazing seed (a3).The strange thing i noticed was, that on named mobs with fights lasting for at least a minute my pet was getting aggro after quite a while (when the mob was down to 40-20% health). This happened with quite alot of nameds and I even took Blazing seed off my pet but that didn't help either. The only thing I could do in this raid was waiting before sending the pet in or call the pet back after a while and waiting a few seconds before sending it into fight again.in the end i was so frustrated I switched to tankpet with off stance I've never experienced such a lot of aggro in other raids before.did I miss some serious adjustment to the pets' damage output in LU18 or could the M1 buffs be the reason?

Is this a new raid for your guild? New tank? Other changes in MT group?Taunt resists could be a problem. Aggro generation on the MT. Lots of potential reasons.Perhaps parse the fights and see where your pet stands in relation to the raid wide DPS.

What I believe happened.......the mage pet out taunted (via damage) then the main assist was taunting. With blazing seed, Offensive stance, and a good level pet a lot of hate can be generated. Maybe the tank was having a bad day and was trying to keep mana by slowing the taunt process. No stance will also assist in generating less (not hitting as much). One thing you can try, engage pet set the anchor location near the mob....and keep turning it off and on to burst dps instead of long dps. Remember the Rangers/Assassins have one of the highest hits and can generate a huge amount of dps. Just my thoughts on the problem.

Yes, i did the raid with another raidforce than the usual one. MT was a 60 berserk.pet's dps was very high, as usual.as in every other froggy raid i was ranked 2nd in dps with my pet doing a lot of dmg.So I guess I'll have to check the pet dmg in comparison to the old logs. for the "anchor": i really hate that option. i used it once in a raid, moved on to the next mob (forgot that the pet was still anchored). i sent it in, it caught aggro after a while and i pulled it back....ouch...and yes, 1st place was a ranger but he didn't catch as much aggro as my pet.
Message Edited by Luhai on 01-03-2006 05:36 PM
If you're doing too much damage, simply drop the stance.
