<DIV>Let me say right up front that I am not currently a summoner or conjurer nor have I ever played one.  I am fairly new to the game and I have been looking for a good mage class,  The conjurer seems to fit that description, though the way of the wizard and illusionists hold their unique appeal as well.  However to get back on topic, when I was looking at the Necro pets versus the Conjurer pets from a purely aesthetic standpoint, there simply is no contest.  Where the Necro pets look good to outstanding for the most part, I personally find the Conjurer pets to look, well bad.  To me they just look like lazy attempts to throw something on the screen.  I mean, Earth, Water, and Fire elementals (pets) could really be done well, yet the pets that are currently in game are  (once again in my opinion) very second or third rate from an appearance standpoint.  I don't know, it was just somewhat disappointing.</DIV>

<DIV> <P>I can agree with you on that. My wife plays a necro and I a conj. and her pets look better, at time I miss the old EQ1 pet models, but our pet kiss butt. I love my conj and after a wile you don’t care what your pet looks just as long as he is keeping the mob off your back. EQ2 is 1-year-old not, they change the charters models and now the pet models, I am hopping in time they will keep on improving the game and change the models again. Or maybe even let us pick our models from a list, like have a pick between the purple ape, rock snake or the old EQ1 pet models. “Maybe??”</P><SPAN>But I look at it this way. If our pets look so-so ok. It might hide the fact that they kick butt, and will be look over when the dev hold there annual “What class should we nerf this time meeting.“<SPAN>   </SPAN></SPAN></DIV>

You'll get past the appearance once you realize just how <I>powerful</I> the class is, and how powerful the pets are as a whole. Besides, I rather like how my pets look.

<DIV>At first I was kinda sad when I saw a 60 Conjuror in the sands with his adept III Aery Hunter out and right next to him was a 60 Necromancer with their Master warrior pet I believe (the one with the nice tower shield, armor, and weapon).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Having gotten my ghost pet though, I'm starting to really like him. His appearance has grown on me, and the tribal looking spear on his back fits his elvish heritage I think. Plus it really is a great pet damage wise <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

What we as conjurers seem to be forgetting is how long the Necro's pets looked awful for.  Yes im not a big fan of my new pets. But heck we always had more then them.<div></div>

<DIV>I personaly dont like the looks of my Conj Pets. Never could figure out who thought of us getting little worms for earth. Always thought it should be like this.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Summoner - Generic Summons of a Clay Golemn, now i dont mean the goofy looking guy we got now, but make him look good, put some work into the model.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Conj - 1st Fire Pet - This could be a lower fire fiend, such as a Fire Salamander model.</DIV> <DIV>Coj - 1st Airpet </DIV>

Considering the stunning job SOE have done with necro pets I think its fair to say that the conjurer pets are less good.</P> <P>For the record, I totally agree with Xalmat and others that the FUNCTIONALITY of the pets is awesome for the most part. Barring a few pathing issues.</P>

<P>Well for one opinion: </P> <P>I would take performance then image anyday.....even though we did get our pets from an elementary art class, and the necros got theirs from the Molly Hatchet album artist <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />. Our pets kick butt though.....our next earth pet should be a bar of clay that each time it engages turns into one of those statue guys in Feerrott. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P>

I guess everyone would jump at the chance to call up a centipede. But then later, you get to call up a bigger centipede that has rocks glued to the body, but really looks like a snake with a bad case of piles.<div></div>
