View Full Version : Level 52 Pet Master...Talk about lame :(

Like the thread says, quite possibly the lamest upgrade I have seen in appearence for a master spell. Seriously, necromancers get some badass armored skeleton with one mean looking sword as their final tank pet master, and what do we get? Eight pieces of coal super glued together. Is this ever going to be changed or will this master pet be stuck as is?

I think it looks very earthly. Significantly better than the moss covered one that Adept 3 pets look like.

I think because it a big tank and we have some real women playing the game.....our earth pet should come with a huge package ......since he got all the brawn and no brains SOE since you took purple monkey away.....give us conjurors something to be envy/ i mean proud of

I agree w/ Xalmat in that it is representative of an "earthy" pet, but I also agree with the original poster - conjurer pets really lack the "awe" factor. What I mean is, you can go to The Caves at level 3 and see lumpy rock piles. When high level conjurers are next to me at say the broker, I don't look twice at their pets because I've seen ghosts and rock piles since level 3. On the other hand, I've never seen a sword like the one the high level necro pet gets, let alone before I even got my citizenship quest done. Ditto the vampire pet. Ditto the lamia pet. I know the purple ape guy had inspired a sort of love/hate relationship with a lot of conjurers, but the first time I saw one way back when, I thought "woah, what is that thing?" I'm not complaining about the grass being greener on the other side, but come on art team! Imagination is your friend!

Although yes, a big tumbling rock pile is the epitome of earth pet-ness, it's really dang boring.

edit - can't spell to save my life

Message Edited by silvercloud on 12-28-2005 12:19 PM

Well for me i dont really care what they look like as long as they work as they are suppose to.

But all my guildies think the 52 lvl need to be washed as they look dirty

Gotta say I agree with ya, silvercloud. Big rock pile guys are boring, and quite frankly I remember them from EQ1, not even EQ2. No question I still love my Conj - best toon I've ever played in either Everquest - but I am tempted to delete an alt and create a Necro just to get those cool looking pets. How can you not like a giant granet golen that rips off his own arm and smacks people with it?

Ickky,

You found their secret....they have 9-year olds designing the conjurors models, and hard rock album designers working on the necro models.....That is why ours well lacks imagination and the necros just looks hawt.

/cry on

NO ONE COMMENTED ON MY MOD TO THE PET

/cry off

HEE HEE HEE Guess no one wanted to touch the boiling pot....least of not stir it a little yes it was a bait

I noticed your mod, GSO...hehe. Personally, anything has got to be better than the boring Myrm as it is. It doesnt make you want to strive to upper levels of earthiness. As always, it pays to be a baddie...should have been a Nec...knew it...:smileyvery-happy:
Message Edited by Defection on 12-29-2005 11:27 PM

I think we can safely say that the Necro Design Team and the Conj Design Team are made up of totally different people. Unfortunately, the Conjurers did not get the best team.

Line up our 3 T6 Pets next to the Necros 3 T6 Pets

I think Necro way more impressive- with the exception of maybe the Master Fire Gargoyle

They got a totally new, very cool ,very detailed unique Tank pet- I havent seen the Master version either but Im sure it blows away our black pile of rocks

The Aery Wood Elf? Well you already know my thoughts on that

Fire Pet - probably our best looking pet- but still just cut and pasted NPC models

All the necro models are also cut and pasted NPC models, mostly from the Bloodlines adventure pack....

Correct me if im wrong but are the Necro Adept and Master models different NPCs models for the Vampire? With the Master being more impressive?

Thats a lot better than just a color change (Myrmidon)

Fire Pet does change models, so thats good (Magi)

Aery Wood Elf ( he gets a different weapon at Master but same exact model? )

Necro Shadowy Stalker and Shadowy Assassin only get weapon swaps, and Grim Spellbinder/Grim Terror only gets a tint change. I don't see you complaining about those pets.
