<DIV>I have been gone for about 5 months. I recently came bac and started playing the summoner. When i hit lvl 10 and got my first pet after a few lvls (lvl 14,15) I started joining parties.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The problem i am having is my darn pet seems to want to Taunt ALL THE TIME. I even have him set to offensive mode and he will still taunt off the tank...its ually fine if its 1 monster but when we are killing Groups of mobs he pulls hate...gets himself killed and then they all come after me and the grp cant do anything about it. Is there something wrong here with the lvl 10 pet or am i doing something wrong??</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Keeping him in offensive mode should help a bit---but alot of it may be you're also grouping with inexperienced tanks that DON'T taunt enough. As you level increases so will the caliber of players you group with. Additionally you'll get a DPS pet that is focused on damage and doesn't taunt. </DIV>

<DIV>Yup, it's most often the quality of the tanks you're playing with - not a problem with the pet. At low levels, you'll find quite a few tanks are not upgrading their taunts as they should do and aren't using them anywhere near enough. The most common error inexperienced tanks make is only to use their taunts when they lose aggro in order to regain aggro.... they should really be using their taunts throughout the battle to make sure that they don't lose aggro in the first place.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If your pet is stealing aggro in a group, check that your group's tank is in his def stance and encourage him to use his taunts throughout the battle - not just when he loses aggro and encourage him to use them more often.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>X</DIV><p>Message Edited by XtremSummons on <span class=date_text>12-28-2005</span> <span class=time_text>02:23 AM</span>
